  1. Exactly! The main disadvantage i see in keyboards is ergonomics. Not only do you need a good keyboard, you also have to get a good chair and table at the correct heights to prevent pains in the arms/hands. A controller usually (you can get pain with a controller too) reduces pain because the ergonomics are designed to fit in your hand, and it's easier to find a comfortable position. When i play, i use the D-Pad. For it's price, my Logitech F310 (Yeah Eulogus, we have the same controller) has the best D-Pad i ever used (tried PS2-4, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Gamecube). The D-Pad is very well-placed, it gives a soft feeling that allows pretty fast inputs (all the other ones feel very stiff, Playstation is the best of those). With a keyboard, you can get almost instantaneous inputs, my brother can't play his rhythm games without one due to the speed required. He tried to use a controller, but the time needed to go from one input to another, combined with simultaneous inputs not covered by the diagonals, giving him a handicap. Before i gave up with fighting games due to not having a wired connection, i always ended up as a masher, using characters that hit you 3 times and KO you. Yeah, i was that guy with the horrible connection who used Utsuho and Ganondorf. A keyboard is godly for those combined movement inputs to launch an attack.
  2. When i started playing Touhou in mid 2022, i noticed that i missed a lot of my bombs. That's when i discovered my keyboard had Ghosting. That error happens on cheap (or even good membrane keyboards) when you press a group of keys very close together, making one or all of the pressed keys in the area stop registering input. Touhou is vulnerable to this, as you always press Shift + Z, meaning that when you go bomb, it will Ghost. As soon as i got my logitech controller, i improved A LOT. The movement using the D-Pad feels very responsive and bombing/releasing is very fast and fun (to the point you can deathbomb somewhat reliably.).
  3. Here's my desktop. It's relatively clean, i change the wallpaper about every 3 days. Ubuntu gets a lot of criticism with how wonderful it's been on my laptop. Read below, Ubuntu is not that good, oh my god, computers hate me sometimes. Edit: Ubuntu decided to stop supporting file systems (you can't format disks anymore with it) so i had to forcibly jump ship to Endeavour OS
  4. Im using FIrefox as my main browser and Vivaldi as a secondary one when i need it. I also use Links when i need to save energy or to avoid JS doing nefarious things. This is how it looks, too bad logins use a TON of JavaScript. Try Links out! It's pretty awesome, it has that GUI mode and a Terminal one.
  5. What concerns me is the stability of the online. I don't know how good ZUN is at making a good online experience, hopefully due to the kind of gameplay it will be enjoyable as it's looks less latency intensive than fighting/racing games.
  6. I agree with all the Gameplay Shortcomings. UFO is even more punishing when you make mistakes (that the Ufos encourage you to do). In SA you don't need to take risks, just play well. take this situation: You are chasing the last Red Ufo to get an extra life, but it changed color at the last moment, and you got caught by a bullet that camouflaged with the background. Now, you lost 1Power, 1Life, Ufo lineup, and it was before Shou's boss battle. Did i mention you were playing as Reimu Homing (the character with likely the less amount of damage?). That makes me want to throw this game out the window, more than SA (that it's fair but really hard) even if every other aspect is among the BEST of the series. I totally agree with Juunimeta here. The Ufos are a good mechanic, but ZUN did a bad job at implementing them this time. Look at WBaWC, where it was so well done, the game is essentially the easiest if you know how to gather them. Character wise, i think it has one of (if not) the best group of characters. ZUN fixed the issues with Touhou Lore being hidden away in text files not included with the game. Some things i like about the characters: Byakuren has a point, she proved that if treated with respect, Youkai are great. I love the conflict it solves in Reimu, as she is in a moral corner to either go all out on Youkai Hunting to protect humans or let them run loose and threaten Gensokyo's balance. Byakuren can be the Youkai Protector and Reimu the Human Protector. Nazrin (Stage 1 Boss!) is the catalyst to the story, as Shou asked her to employ her Radiesthesia to locate both the missing pieces of the floating vault and the Bishamonten Pagoda. The protagonists also unwillingly help out the cause by taking Nazrin's job to collect the "treasure". I really like that Nazrin used the Pagoda without permission, it gives her a lot of personality. Kogasa is arguably the less memorable character, but she actually plays a role in the story. She is the golden example that "shot first, ask later" is a bad business model for the humans, as she (with Sekibanki) are among the least hostile Youkai, only needing to scare you to gather energy. Kogasa serves as the example that Byakuren is right with all the "Youkai forgiveness" (on other media, you can see Kogasa hang out with in Byakuren's temple). I enjoy Nue just pranking everybody. She even makes cameos as the "Glowing Ball" (remember, she can change how you perceive her appearance). Music wise, it has a great OST full of what now we can consider classics. My favorite tracks are Interdimentional Voyage of a Ghostly Passenger Ship (one of the few instances of the ZUNBass), Captain Murasa, Rural Makai City Esoteria and things like The Tiger-Patterned Bishamonten being among the most intimidating and epic tracks in all of Touhou. Fire of Hokkai is pretty meh, but it really shows that Byakuren awakened with the heart beat as a drum Extra things: Byakuren's spell card, Great Magic "Devil's Recitation" and the fairies in Makai make pretty clear references to Shinki. Makai is depicted as a desolate place compared to Mystic Square. It further solidifies my head-canon "Alice got the Grimoire out of control" theory. As you see a ruined Makai, with few traces that something once was there, probably the result of the destruction caused by the events in Mystic Square and the Extra Stage (where i think Alice in her egoism pushed the Grimoire too hard and unleashed some world breaking dangers). Reimu also remembers being in Makai, but she doesn't remember Alice or the other inhabitants of Makai, interesting. At this point i should structure the theory better and make a post in here. Another detail i enjoy is that the Bad endings are really BAD. You get stuck in Hokkai with no apparent way to get out, it really pushes you to complete the game. There also exists a Touhou virus/malware someone made called Rensenware (joking with the japanese title of UFO), where Murasa uses her ghostly abilities to encrypt your drive, challenging you to score 0.2 BILLION in LUNATIC to decrypt the drive. The funniest thing is that if the YouTube comments of the video are right, the author of the virus got himself and a lot of people infected and had to program a decryption tool to solve the incident.
  7. I don't have a lot to say about this game, the difficulty is just too much for me to have fun at the moment with the game. Just recently i got a chance to finish the games with continues thanks to a thcrap mod that restores the old continue system. I probably approached the game wrong, as i counted 10 continues to beat the game. I have a mental block with this game, so I'm keeping it brief. The atmosphere of the game is wonderful, you get a constant sense of danger thanks to the combination of the music and stage design. It's brilliant to have Lullaby of Deserted Hell on stage 5 while the background is literally on fire as you get closer to the living reactor Utsuho, only being stopped by the cat that was following you since Stage 4, only to reveal she can take a human form with a BODY CART and Orin absolutely carried me in the cart to some hellish fire, lol. Honestly, i feel this game is being let down due to its mechanics. If it used either Point Device like 15 or restored the old continue+power system... One can dream. The story is among the best and the idea to have partners gives the dialogs a lot more depth. I played Reimu+Yukari and Marisa+Alice. I didn't like Yukari here as she felt like a tutorial constantly explaining what's going on. But Alice like always complements Marisa's dialogs, behaving more like friends who tease each other and less like Yukari trying to act as Reimu's Mom.
  8. Yes, I'm going to be the one who says it. Minecraft is my other favorite game. I have been playing it since i was 7 and there's always something new to do. Why? It's infinite! Want to make a sheep launcher? You can! Want to do some crazy redstone engineering to make a 20x20 blocks automatic door? You can! It's even bigger if you add mods or graphical shaders. You could even get a Touhou mod for it, insanity. My personal favorite is the Sound Physics Remastered mod, the ambiance it brings to closed spaces is unreal. Another advantage is that it runs on pretty much every device (including very old PCs, just play an older version like 1.12 or Beta 1.7.3) and it has surprisingly robust multiplayer even in bad connections. I could go with nostalgia and say some of the great Wii titles i spent an infinity playing like "Godzilla Unleashed", "Monsters Lab", "Smash Bros Brawl" or "Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3" but it's in the past for a reason. Pokemon was a close second to Minecraft, but it never solved the flaws in gameplay, and the level farming you have to do gets boring FAST if you don't use a cheat to speed up the game.
  9. The continue system got so bad for me, i just don't want to go past Stage 4 in SA and UFO. I agree with you (i need to try the continue patch again, the first time it gave me trouble). I even prefer LotLK's point device mode that has a shorter die-n-retry loop with a save file to stop playing once you feel like it. Exactly, and as you get better and start dying less, you can spam more bombs due to having more Power available (instead of just keeping the power high). Thing is that in SA you might not lack power, but range (Reimu's homing is bad in this entry, so the easy way is out). Another thing with Classic bombs is that the game encourages you too much to use them, because a death means at least 3 bombs you lost without reward. This makes me start spamming bombs like a madman as soon as i hit Stage 5
  10. Ohh god, this game (second 1cc). Bombs in this game might look annoying, but they answer a strategy issue of past games (that I'm sure ZUN dislikes), Bomb Spamming. What's stopping you from unleashing a hell of bombs on the Stage 5 & 6 bosses if you stockpile enough of them? It takes away a part of the strategy to use bombs in smart ways, but instead guarantees that if you manage your power right, you can pretty much drop a bomb every 2 boss patterns with the amount of power items the game gives you. Making the 5th power level be a "free bomb/no power loss on death" is smart, it makes the system work. Yeah, having a single circle bomb sucks and the implementation on SA was so unfair the system was scrapped. Our opinions differ a lot here, I'm in the camp that this change sucks. I feel like it makes practicing the game worse, let's say you are stuck on Stage 4, and you finally managed to beat it, now you are in a completely unknown Stage 5 without any idea what to do. In the other system, you can brute force through and get an idea at what to do in the later patterns of the game (you can have a lucky day and reach stage 6 without continues, it gives me more satisfaction). And it makes practice mode feel redundant by essentially turning the main game into an intensive practice session, another thing is that you can't practice stages you haven't reached, meaning there's no easy way to unlock harder stages with how the continue system works. The faith system is like EoSD, the more score you get, the more lifes you can gather. This is one of the games that better encapsulate the vibe of Gensokyo, when i think of that place the backgrounds of MoF come to mind. Kanako is pretty villainous in this game, the Kappas and Tengus at first were against her essentially taking control of the mountain (it was always controlled by the Tengus). Reimu/Marisa acted like a mediator between the two before a full out war exploded, read these dialogs from Aya in Reimu's scenario: "Lately, there's a god that's been giving even us some trouble. She keeps acting like this mountain is hers... And she's even come down to the foot of the mountain lately to try and gather faith..." "If she really got out of hand, we tengu were going to go beat her, so you don't need to do anything." Nitori also says something similar to Aya in Marisa's scenario: "Recently, a threatening god has taken up residence at the top of the mountain. Thanks to that, us kappa and tengu have been bothered." Sanae is a tragic character, she essentially was forced by Kanako/Suwako to give up her life as a demi-god on the outside world and come to Gensokyo, that's why ZUN usually gives her something related to being egoist in her in-game descriptions. Yeah, she is not the greatest character, but works as contrast to what Reimu should accomplish as a shrine maiden. (Sanae is the popular shrine maiden in Gensokyo, while Reimu is depicted as being lazy with her non-youkai hunting shrine maiden tasks, not even knowing who the Hakurei god is). Overall, i like this game, even if the changes to the continue system are not of my taste. The rest of the cast is really enjoyable, even getting protagonism in future games (Nitori in SA and Aya in HSiFS and spin-offs)
  11. My power would be Look of Fluff, if you look me in the eyes, you transform into a Fumo, permanently. (Joking! Real power below.) The real power i would choose is: Gravity/Mass Control With that power, any incoming attack is easier to defend (just make it heavier/lighter before it reaches you) and put sturdy objects in orbit around me. It's also good for offense, i can alter my body's gravity to pack more power in physical strength, throw objects with altered gravity or just end the enemy by making its head weight like a car. There are practical uses, like carrying heavy objects, flying, stopping mosquitoes at bedtime (you make them crash against the floor) and more. This makes me think why this power isn't more used in fiction, i can't remember any fiction where it's used.
  12. I found a pretty neat connection in one of the most unexpected places, in the PCSX2 Emulator for PS2. In this emulator, you can choose what theme to use (with a few built-in themes). What's the name for the red theme? Scarlet Devil. Am I overthinking this?
  13. Imperishable Night is the third (and last) game i 1cc'd (currently im focusing in catching up with the later games, with continues, to be ready once 19 releases). This is probably the most replayable game in the series, considering the Stages 4 and 6 have two versions and once you 1cc the game with each character, you unlock playing with each character individually. The pairs work great, making the dialogs and gameplay much more entertaining, and it's a shame ZUN never repeated this outside Touhou 11. The time gimmick is something helpful to know once you start playing, because this game's continue system decreases your remaining time, meaning that if you don't manage your time correctly you will get a game over. This is the first bad gimmick, it doesn't help you in any way, and it locks you out from practicing Stage 6 (or 5 if you are bad at this). I had to play Stages 1 and 2 in a near perfect way to gather enough time (each stage in which you get the bonus, accounts for an extra 30 minutes, needing 1 hour to get a continue) just to reach Eirin. The best way to gather time is to: Play focused during stages (as each enemy you take down increases your points) and playing unfocused during bosses (it increases your time progressively) and switching just before the kill to focus mode. As you can see, it's problematic for every team except Youmu/Yuyuko and Sakuya/Remilia. Last Words are cool, but really hard to see. There's a bug with Marisa/Alice in this game, if you rapidly spam switching between focus and unfocused, you do even more damage than Youmu. Another bug is that when you switch to Youmu, her spirit points upwards, making it pretty easy to do a lot of damage quickly by just reseting it's position every time you find an opening. Sakuya's shot type is just a nerfed version of SakuyaA from 7. Remilia's shot type could mean her immaturity, as it's kinda cheap to cover 2 parts of the stage at one time, i don't know. ZUN just made Reimu stupidly hard (i'd say, even harder than Kaguya/Eirin) and Reisen is the first boss with "cheap" attacks (with "cheap" i mean that i had to look up how to dodge them do to them being unintuitive and even if you know how to dodge them, there's a big chance for you getting hit anyway.). Luckily, this game is pretty generous with resources if you can get high scores and if you use bombs. ZUN planned to have a fight with Youmu and Sakuya, but he ran out of time during development (this is why you can unlock some spellcards where you face them and even Remilia and Yuyuko in practice mode). Reisen's gimmick is due to her having powerful eyes (she can manipulate waves you can see and somehow induce "craziness" in you), idk why a rabbit has eye-releated powers??? Alice is responsible, until she suggests Marisa to call Reimu a Bitch (mistranslation, but still it's iconic) and on her good ending she fails to stop Marisa from telling Reisen her house is a museum she wants to steal from (lol). Yukari just acts like Reimu's mom for some reason? Yuyuko is strange, because she is doing the "im goofy haha" game but she drops some nuggets of information on her dialogs if you pay attention. Her dialogs are almost like a poem, you need to look trice to find meaning. These are the important ones: First, she reveals that Keine is a half-beast before the extra stage. Second, she reveals that there's a secret (Stage 6 B) in the Eientei with all the "dragon fish" nonsense (it's a word game in japanese that hints at Kaguya). Third, she correctly noticed that Reisen comes from space. Forth, she makes a right guess about Eirn being a criminal in the moon. Fifth, she is overly cautious with Mokou (could she know they are distantly related?) as Yuyuko instantly tried to use her power on her and is visibly scared of her. Same. For me this is the worst part of the game (combined with it's replayability, it sucks). Wriggle and Mystia just don't matter, at all. Reisen gets a lot of development in LotLK (Touhou 15), that's why she gets a lot of love. Her dialogues in that game are among the best i read from ZUN. I find Eirin to have a god complex, her dialogues make you feel dumb and because she's immortal she just treats everybody as a tool (on 15, she keeps on with this, i really dislike her). Kaguya is similar, but she is a lot less egotistical, instead just treating everything like a game. Mokou is amazing! If you think about it, she is the opposite of Yuyuko (not being able to continue with life's cycle, but alive instead of being a ghost). And it's one of the few characters that wears pants! What a shame she's underutilized by ZUN. I find Keine to be pretty boring, i end up disliking her just because her attacks annoy me, as there's nothing interesting in her character. I love how well the more calm OST contrasts the time rush you are in. Nostalgic Blood of the East ~ Old World is inspired by Alice in Wonderland, i love the throwback as it's one of my favorite Touhou songs. Plain Asia also sounds like something out of PC98. Maiden's Capriccio is just too ear breaking for me, i prefer the LLS version. Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon is also pretty boring for me, it drags too long before the somewhat disappointing climax. Both Voyage songs make me feel like im in space and it's pretty cool. Cinderella Cage for me is the representative song from this game (or Mokou's theme) as it feels like a time rush where you have to take it easy (and the zunpets in this are among my all-time favorites, they actually sound real) Gensokyo Milenium ~ History of the Moon is one i also like a lot, it makes me feel like im in the wild west riding a horse, for some reason. It's pretty climatic for a final boss. Flight of the Bamboo Cutter ~ Lunatic Princess is very memorable for me, because i spent like a month to 1cc this game and the adrenaline i felt on the run was incredible. The song itself is a little noisy. Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke is a great song as it perfectly syncs with Mokou's revival every spell card you beat and the main melody is catchy but not boring. The song is just too long and repetitive to listen outside the game. Imperishable Night is one of my favorite games in the series, despite its flaws. I don't feel it embodies Touhou, as the mechanics and all the things you can unlock are too complex but as with everything, it's just a matter of taste. Oh, there's some hidden lore in the ultimate spells (last words) of each character, especially in Reimu's, that's crucial to her character. But as ZUN likes to do, that lore is pretty hidden, if it weren't for this video i wouldn't know.
  14. I didn't mention Mima because ZUN didn't give any hints, but with the Detective Satori manga having a character from the same species and 19's big roster, there's a big chance she could return soon. This is why LotLK has my favorite story until now, Reisen's story dialogs are pretty good at covering the complete story
  15. Ahhh PCB, my first Touhou game and the first one i 1cc'd (with ReimuB). Oh, feel free to skip the quotes as i usually put the big chunk of text if you like to read it without reading what came before. I agree with all of this. Once ZUN finished all the heavy work with the game engine, he did an amazing work at polishing the game's mechanics. Eulogous is right, removing the ENEMY was a mistake (and in some games that have the game borders with reddish colors, it's a nightmare). Thank god there's a Thcrap patch that brings back the text, ZUN has a tendency to unintentionally hate anybody with bad eyesight. Oh, and the Cherry Border's one of my favorite mechanics, Touhou is one hell of a game and it's pretty helpful to have it present. For some reason, Reimu's focus speed is ungodly slow (to the point i got good at dodging most things unfocused, that would hurt me in future games where Reimu's faster) and not being able to change the bomb amount in the settings is strange (Marisa hurts with only 2 bombs per life) PCB's has one of the most atmospheric (and overall best) OSTs in the series. "The Capital City of Flowers in the Sky" gives you the feeling you are flying at top speed with ever-increasing spring (matched with Lily White, the fairy of spring), "Hiroari" (the names are too long) captures Youmu's stoic but fierce and impulsive slashes and "Border of Life" tells you that something is hidden beneath Yuyuko's almost goofy dialogs. I agree with Gri, the Zunpets (especially in Stage 6 and Extra/Phantasm) are waaay too high, every time i reach Stage 6 i have to lower the volume and miss out on Border of Life (one of my favorite touhou songs). Necrofantasia is just ear bleeding, thank god ZUN remade it (and Necro-fantasy) in the CDs, only Border of Life left. You get a lot more information on the games on some text files that came with the game (but the digital versions don't carry them), you can read them on https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Touhou_Wiki at the bottom of each of the character's pages (something that i recently discovered). This is what was written in an old book Yuyuko found that triggered the events of PCB (found in Yuyuko's text file, from the wiki). Heavy spoilers ahead for PCB. It's interesting that EoSD's text files are a lot less deep than PCB's. "On the day the Saigyou Ayakashi had reached full bloom, the daughter of Fujimi crossed the boundary of life and death (in other words, passed away). So that her soul may rest in peace within Hakugyokurou, I shall seal the tree's blossoms and hereby fashion these limbs into a barrier. It is my hope that she will never again reincarnate, and thus never again have to suffer pain..." But it only gets more strange once you look at Yukari's text file: "The next time she woke up, she received a request from Yuyuko asking her to restore the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead. It was a ridiculous request since Yuyuko was the one who weakened it to begin with, so Yukari rubbed the sleep from her eyes and set out for repairs." Then it follows with: "Everyone always seemed to be bent out of shape about that youkai cherry tree, and nothing else. Surely, it had drained the life out of so many humans. Yukari knew it was dangerous. However, she realized there was nothing she could do about it. Yukari had known Yuyuko since before her death. She also knew that it was not Yuyuko who was sealed by the Saigyou Ayakashi... ... but that it was Yuyuko's body that was sealing the Saigyou Ayakashi." Pretty confusing stuff, right? I also got the first impression that Yukari messed with the border, but Yuyuko was so decided to revive the person in the Youkai Tree that she weakened the border. My theory is that Yuyuko took his life not only out of fear of herself, but to seal the Youkai Tree and that another member of Yuyuko's family was the one who accidentally triggered the Youkai Tree's wrath. Headcanon incoming: Alice's interesting here, as my theory is that she rebooted the world as a last resort after you defeat her in the Extra Stage, with only the most powerful surviving (Yuuka, Reimu, Marisa, and it's insinuated Shinki too due to Stage 6 of UFO). She would have felt pretty guilty about all of this (thinking she killed Shinki due to Makai being a wasteland in Windows Canon), explaining why The Grimoire is sealed. This would also explain why she is more mature (aside of being older) and helping out even lost humans in the Forest of Magic (even if she's a Youkai). Yuyuko's one of my favorite characters, she hides her wisdom with goofiness and food jokes (as in future games, it's clear she knows with a lot of detail all the reasons for the incidents) and it's just delightful to read. I also enjoy that she doesn't treat Youmu like an object (like how Eirin does or Remilia to a certain extent) and overall the mysteries behind the character's story really intrigue me. This video might have to do with me liking Yuyuko... (it highlights the hidden story with a bit of fan canon). This got long, holy god.
  16. I haven't played enough LLS to compare it with MS, but this game is impressive! The music is glorious for being made with FM Synthesis. Alice in Wonderland, Dream Express, Dimension of Reverie, Doll of Misery and The Grimoire of Alice all blow my mind (and there isn't one song I don't like and accomplishing that is impressive) Stage design, Character design, Difficulty, Dialogues are ones of my favorites in the saga. Not only it's the best multiple enemies fight, Yuki and Mai also move around like crazy, making it so that even if you are pointing for one of them, there's a chance the other one will get the fight. In future fights that do the multiple enemies concept, their movements are predictable and attacks don't change if you focus on one enemy (aside PCB's Stage 4) Mystic Square just does things well, it doesn't try to reinvent the wheel with gameplay gimmicks (that can make you either love or hate a game) and it's waaay more polished than EoSD (that also focuses on "just bullet hell").
  17. I also find EoSD to be underwhelming. By no means it's a bad game, it's very fun to play. All the downgrades present when comparing PC98 to Windows games (especially EoSD) have one likely cause: Development Hell If i recall correctly, ZUN was done with Touhou after Mystic Square, but he decided to continue making games. Don't underestimate the jump from PC98 to Windows, a lot of things are different between those two environments. Also wasn't Amusement Makers absent from the development of this game? He had to: Learn Windows Rebuilt the game engine Relearn programming using the tools Windows offers Figure out how to make music in a format friendly to Windows (giving a MIDI didn't work as well as PC98 due to Windows machines having more advanced audio systems, meaning he had to learn how to use a Music Workstation) And all the work he normally does when making Touhou. I think ZUN experimented with storytelling differently in this game. All the characters (outside Rumia and mid stage bosses) tell who they are thanks to their bullet patterns and boss music. You kinda understand that Cirno is not the brightest fairy thanks to her silly boss music and patterns that at first appear intimidating but are easy to dodge. But someone like Meiling, who's a martial artist, fires straight forward attacks (like punches) that require almost instinctive dodging or Patchouli flexing her magical skills changing her patterns depending on the character of choice. At least the patterns/music make up for the lack of good storytelling. If you can/like, play EoSD with either the MIDIs (ZUN made a last moment decision and he made normal audio files instead) or using a remastered version of the OST (KR Palto made the best in my opinion faithful remaster/remix). It gives the songs more depth in their sound and gives the game a more "complete" feeling. In Thcrap you can download a patch with the MIDIs playing as audio files (made by Romantique Tp on the same hardware as ZUN) with the name "bgm_sc88pro" or use the versions made by KR Palto by following his instructions on the playlist with his remasters. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLT2BXm3V6TlYHBE3cX5OQgjGsw8qyX1T2 One more thing! You can hear some of the PC98 songs with actual instruments by checking out Romantique Tp playing official files ZUN made for the SC-88 Pro. It's pretty crazy. https://www.youtube.com/@RomantiqueTp
  18. This is already fixed (at least for me), an oversight with the latest update of thcrap caused issues but it was reported at https://github.com/thpatch/thcrap/issues/216 Just launch your games and it should update itself.
  19. I like any fruit that's easy to eat, if you require a ton of steps, at that point i prefer a vegetable. Dragonfruit (in here, we call them "Pitahaya"), Apples, Tangerines (seeds are annoying) and Bananas. Can't choose one over the other.
  20. Emulating PC98 is pretty tricky, here's the setup i made to get 4 and 5 running smoothly: First, im running Neko Project II Kai, using Retroarch from Flathub (a linux appstore, the Windows version should work just as well). Open the game you want with the core, then press F1. Go to "Core options" (I'm using Spanish, might use different words in yours), increase RAM size to 120MB, use CPU Base Clock at 2.45576MHz, CPU Feature at Intel 80386 and put CPU Clock Multiplier at 24. With these, you should get good fps even in the most complex attacks (the ZunSoft logo playing without issues is your main indicator everything works fine) Also, im using a version of the games that has an English translation i got from Internet Archive https://archive.org/details/ritokatsugathpc98
  21. - Favorite things about Touhou? - Hobbies you like? - What music you enjoy?
  22. I have tree main usernames i use. The first one i made is "Raxelgrande" back when i was 5-6 years old and i needed to register in Cartoon Network's website to play some of the web flash games they had. It originally was Rex el Grande (from Generator Rex) but the name was taken, so i changed the E for an A and the rest is history. The second name, the one i use here, came from a Youtuber's minecraft pet that was named "Pipo" but again i swapped some letters, and it ended up as Pepi. The third username is just a combination of Raxelgrande and Pepi, "RaxelPepi".
  23. From the context, I guess it's my least favorite Touhou character. That would be Eirin Yagokoro. Her design is pretty meh and i get uneasy reading her, I'm not sure why. Her spell cards and music are godly, though. The only fangames i tried were Luna Nights and Lost World (does it count? it's not canon, so...). Luna Nights is pretty fun, it's just too short. I really like Mountainous terrain, it's really mesmerizing to look at all the perfect irregularities of nature in the landscape. The only bad thing is that as soon as you do any physical activity for 10 minutes, you get out of breath due to height. I haven't been in places with widely different climates, what i can say is that Big Cities are horrible and that Humidity is a no, thanks (it makes me feel heavy, tired and dumb) They still are pretty fun games, the characters and music are among the best in the series. "Unenjoyable" is too strong a word. What i dislike about them is the Continue system, making practice (using in-game tools) pretty hard. Also, the bombing system on 11 is straight up "use bombs you don't do damage anymore". It breaks the value bombs give, and you can get steamrolled if for example you bomb and soon after die, now you are at 2 power and the boss lasts forever. Touhou 12's UFOs can get me angry on a bad day, but they are fun (if you know how to use them, it's almost two guaranteed lives per stage).
  24. Tenshi's hat is one of the few Touhou hats i could wear without looking like a monstrosity. You see things like Remilia's hat that screams "I'm old and boring" and "this is my sleeping gear" It's like a cowboy hat, with some peaches and leaves in it. Just look at this hat supremacy.
