  1. Very nice guide. I would just add some more troubleshooting points. On all machines I played Touhou on, using vanilla wine and proton will make the game's SFX muffled due to bad resampling. Using Lutris's builds of wine and proton-ge fixes this. Maybe bottles's builds also have it patched. I would also mention what a compositor is and how to disable it, because ideally we don't want vsync or any additional input delay on the game. I never played a game on Wayland, I don't know how well you can take care of this, but on Xorg I know you can disable the compositor in most desktops.
  2. I despise the education system in my country. You are overworked for nothing, evaluated unfairly in a highly stressful competition for a mere chance of survival. You have no time or energy left for yourself and you will have to work very hard for subjects and exams that are not even related to the course you want to apply to. You must have a high score for everything or you're fucking done, regardless of whether you actually like or need the subject or not. Yes, even physical education's score counts. You are nothing but a number to the system. Your creativity and passion for learning is crushed by the imposition that you must memorize everything and repeat the exact same patterns to squeeze the highest score possible for a small chance of making it out well in the system. This is not learning or even close. The only thing you learn from this is to despise school and how to hold a fart for 8-10 consecutive hours. You are imprisoned for a whole day, unable to rest, do as you wish or stand up without being punished. In the end, you might be amazing at the area of your dreams, but you won't be able to join unless you sell your soul to everything that does not fucking matter or is not fucking fair. In comparison, in other countries (usually northern and nordic europe) you would easily enter the area of your dreams without effort regardless of your current skills for it. Things however get slightly better here when you are already graduated from college and you want to apply for a higher level of education like a post graduation or a masters. In this case, the entry is curriculum-based instead and you can prove your skills with what truly matters in a mostly down-to-earth approach. Your entry score will now be able to be much higher with professional experience or, my favorite, your personal experience, projects, documents, scientific papers, etc. Yeah sure, if you don't have professional experience and the degree is not in the course family of the masters/post graduation you want to apply to, your entry priority will be low. But the cool thing here is that masters degrees (depending on the university) are fragmented into multiple branches. The post-graduations are also specialized and you have a fair share of them (varies between universities too). This makes it so that there are just about enough slots for most people, so you don't have to worry much about the horrible entry competition that used to be before. Since this country has (iirc) the 3rd oldest population in the world, there is a lot of old fashioned and boomer mentality, and even the young people probably won't understand or care about this problem. It's even worse if you have autism or a similar condition that makes you hyperfocus on your special interests, but be unable to focus on what does not matter or what you don't care about. The school system is not made for atypical neurological minds. In fact, they want us all to be exact same copies of each other, like a recycled NPC.
  3. This happens only with th19 on fullscreen very specifically, and I don't have old or quirky obscure hardware/drivers, so it surely is something that is different in the engine that doesn't go along well with wine
  4. I used Lutris's builds of wine and proton-ge and both had this issue Not so sure about vanilla proton because i didnt buy the game on steam I didn't try bottles or vanilla wine
  5. Touhou 19 had so much potential to be one of the greatest games, but it got too rushed. It's a very fun game and has many characters to play with and I'm enjoying it. It's sad because if only the game wasn't rushed it would have been amazing, because there are many positive things to talk about the game, but the negative aspects turn me off completely from considering buying it. The OST's original tracks are very cool and I like them, but the rest is just rearrangements of old themes and most barely differ from the originals. The pixel art is very cool, and the portraits are too. The new character's designs range from really cool to meh. I like Hisami and Son Biten more than the rest. Input delay is really good as always Finally my controller's analog triggers work. So many games don't support these analog triggers I can't talk about the story yet, because you progress through it as you play with each character, instead of each character being an isolated variant of the story. Then we have the strong downsides of the game: No score at all No replays (wtf!!!!!) No extra stage Online is fucked Some character portraits are worse than others, and generally all have the same energy to them, which doesn't help distinguishing character personalities Unbalanced portions of the game depending on the context (for example fighting certain enemies in lunatic) Some playable characters are very weak Main game is the shortest ever, with every run lasting around 15 minutes Versus mode takes forever for the enemy to get hit, feels very unfair In story mode, the enemy doesn't get hit, you just have to clear the spellcards. This is fine, but it's weird considering it's supposed to be a versus game. Also in the same mode, the enemy live indication doesn't lower when you clear a spellcard and doesn't represent the amount of spellcards you need to clear either, so you don't know how many are left to clear unless you know from memory This is the first Touhou game to crash on Linux when you alt-tab (if it's in fullscreen mode). I'm not sure if this happens on native Windows as well The card mechanic is not necessary and doesn't need to be in this game. You won't care about the cards and you can't even pick the ones you want. It just feels forced I assume the price increase to 14€ or whatever is due to zun hiring a pixel artist, but the game in its current state should not be this expensive. I hope zun patches it and improves it a little bit at least
  6. Ah shit, then I guess I'll keep plundering I don't want to spend 14-15€ in a game in such state, I don't want to give zun the idea that he should keep rushing his games.
  7. It would be very cool if he polished the game further and added replays and other missing features.
  8. I follow the ways of the Doremy
