  1. Touhou is rather popular. I'm sure that there would be enough people to hold a tourney at the right event like an anime convention. It would be more likely to take place at a large event, though. The issue would not be getting enough people to play but rather would people be willing to help keep track of things. Considering the nature of the games, with even the latest one on Steam having a pretty low minimum requirement (according to the store page you can run Unconnected Marketeers on a win8 machine), I am sure that the online functionality of the upcoming game will be smooth as butter! I have good faith in ZUN. <3
  2. I have a bit of a proposition as to how the versus-type gameplay will affect the latest Touhou game. Do you think that if this game catches on more than PoFV that we might be seeing Touhou tournaments popping up? I would really like to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Would you enter a Touhou tournament? Why or why not? I would personally enter one, since I like the idea of seeing how my dodging skills stack up against others. Although I am not the best, (I still have never done a normal mode 1cc yet...) I think it would be fun to give it a shot! I also wonder how these tournaments might be organized and ran. Would they be more likely to be in person at conventions or completely online? I'd like to see them in person, because it would be fun to see more community get togethers. :D
  3. thanks for the tip! I'll be sure to look into thcrap!
  4. Yeah. I've thought of using continues so I can at least see the final stage but if I remember correctly, the best ending is achieved through a no continues clear. I'll be sure to patch up my steam games so I can get the story, though! Are you able to get English patches here? I don't want to download the games again since I already got em.
  5. I would say the best way to introduce someone to Touhou is the fan music! Iosys...Beatmario...Cool&Create...and of course Alstromeria Records! If she likes the fan music, show her the original music then tell her about the games!
  6. Thank you so much for the welcomes. <3 I'm very eager to talk about this lovely series!
  7. Yeah. I've been having skill issues a lot. Touhou is my first ever bullet hell and I am still not used to how intricate it can be! Even then I'm in awe of how pretty the patterns are. I'm shooting for a no continues clear on normal, which is ambitious for someone still at baby level. Currently I do not have the two games I got on steam patched, but I got eosd and perfect cherry blossom off of here with English patches!
  8. My username is my character! I made Lavvie on my first semester of college. Before then I had a previous character that didn't fit me anymore. She had a good run, 2014 to 2021 or so. Lavvie symbolizes embracing myself and my quirks more, so she means a ton to me. I adore my silly purple fox!
  9. Thanks! I got em a long while ago, though. :p Thinking of picking up Phantasmagoria of Flower View :3 Glad the games are on steam so people all over the globe can contribute to ZUN's beer fund!
  10. Thanks! I haven't beaten it yet, I struggle to go past the third stage. What's your favorite spirit to use? I like using the eagle!
  11. I've thought of picking up Lost World. Is it good?
  12. My first Touhou game was was Hidden Star In Four Seasons! I never beat any games yet...but I did get pretty far in EOSD!
  13. Thank you for the warm welcomes <3 how long have you been involved in Touhou?
  14. Hi there, my name is Lavvie! I am very happy a place like this exists. I remember finding Touhou videos when I was a kid and falling in love with the pretty patterns. It quickly became a big hyperfixation for me, but I could not find anywhere to get the games. Fast forward to around 2019 or so and I saw some games officially up on Steam! I bought Hidden Star In Four Seasons as well as Wily Beast and Weakest Creature. I downloaded EOSD today and it is wildly different from the two games I got on Steam. I never really bothered to interact with the community, but rather was content to play games in my little corner. Now, my desire to make friends in the community have begun to outweigh the desire to be in my comfort zone. I am very happy to be a part of the Touhou community!
