No one knows how it happened. 

The great Hakurei Barrier had always been there, keeping the outside world at bay. But in Season 123, something seemed to change in the barrier. Small shifts in the fabric of the barrier. Its guardian assumed these were normal ebbs in the flow of magic. Quick to appear and vanish again. All seemed normal, until the impossible happened. The magic within Gensokyo began to fade. The powers of great witches and youkai alike declined, until the fearsome power of the Spell Cards became a distant memory.

With the rules of the Danmaku now forever broken, the natives of Gensokyo turned to the greatest of their kind for protection. Across this once-innocent land, banners rose to newborn nations. Dividing the land among themselves. Though in such tumultuous times, it was not long before Gensokyo fell into conflict…

That is not to say all is safe away from the battlefields of these nations. Desperate to retain their powers, wild Youkai began to attack humans on the fringes of Gensokyo, hungry for their life force. Human supremacists, longing to see the day the Youkai are dealt with once and for all, operate in the shadows of free nations. Outsiders, guarding one of the few remaining paths to the outside world, plunder our home for its wealth and magicks. And all the while, the Lunarians silently monitor us all from the shadows…

You are one of the few remaining heroines in this age of war. A champion, or perhaps a citizen, of one of these great nations. Perhaps you are a heroine who knew the world as it was, or a new champion rising to meet this new conflict. Perhaps you can throw a punch, shoot an arrow, fire a gun or know a blade. You may even know how to cast basic magic. As the armies of a divided Gensokyo march to war, you have no idea you will find yourself thrust into a quest to save the land the gods loved…

With the votes for the next game tied, and my free time very limited, I decided Illusionary Nirvana might be the best RP to continue our reconquest of Eientai. The story is simple. The land is shattered as magic declines, dividing Gensokyo into several competing factions. You as heroines are destined to meet, and reverse this terrible fate for Gensokyo.

Eientei Dominion

Leader: Eternal Princess Kaguya Houraisan

Government: Absolute Monarchy

Description: Description: Eientei’s declaration of suzerainty and Princess Kaguya’s rise came mere days after the declaration of the Scarlet Empire. The Princess of the Moon’s position has often led to wild speculation of her involvement in secret plans with the Lunarians, and a secret plot to colonize Gensokyo. A rumor which Eientei’s agents have done little to dissuade. Though the truth of the matter may simply be Kaguya declared herself the Eternal Princess simply out of boredom.

Eientei is among the most advanced civilizations on the surface of Gensokyo. Its ties to the Lunatic Kingdom providing them with advanced weaponry and knowledge of manufacturing. Though few in the Dominion know how to apply these principles. With the luxuries of the Outside World vanishing and the path to the Moon becoming increasingly treacherous, Eientei is increasingly dependent upon its own industry. The Dominion may grow to be a goliath, or its dependence on technology may prove to be its downfall.

 

Fairy Queendoms

Leader: Queen Cirno the Strongest

Government: Royal Confederation

Description: One of the first factions to form after the fall of the Danmaku Rules, the Misty Fairy Queendom was established as a way for fairies to defend themselves against demons, youkai and humans alike. Though initially successful, the unruly nature of fairies combined with the Scarlet Empire’s rising power nearly caused the collapse of the Misty Fairy Queendom. A meeting between Daiyousei and the Three Fairies of Light led to the unification of their realms into one nation. A source of (relative) stability and comfort for the Fairies, the looming threat of the Scarlet Empire weighs heavily on Cirno and the Three Fairies. Should they fail, their kind might become the food of Youkai, hunted down by Humans, or forced to serve the Demons for all eternity…

 

Garden of the Sun

Leader: Lady Yuuka Kazami

Capital: Terrace of the Sun

Government: Totalitarian Dictatorship

Description: There was never a moment where the Garden of the Sun declared itself a legal entity. No proud display of a constitution or coronation of a monarch. The Garden of the Sun simply was. Long the domain of the feared Yuuka Kazami, the Great Hakurei Barrier’s solidification has led the normally reclusive Youkai to invite a number of others to join her. These refugees to the Garden she rules like a military junta, using her fearsome reputation, great power and her aggressively playful nature to keep them in check.

While the Garden of the Sun presents itself as a hermit state, with little interest in foreign relations, Yuuki has at times opened the Garden to humans fleeing the wars elsewhere. The fate of these humans is unknown, but given her affection for the Garden, it is likely their lives are heavily monitored and regulated.

 

Hakurei Republic

Leader: Prime Minister Hakurei Reimu

Capital: Eastern Human Village

Species: Humans, Oni, Inchlings, Youkai

Government: Federal Republic

Description: Born out of the splintering Human Village, the Hakurei Republic was founded after the Western Village’s Buddhists chose to declare independence under the Myouren Temple. Established at the Shrine of the same name, the Hakurei Republic declared itself a free nation where all regardless of their faith or race was welcome. This has led to an eclectic nation. Though ostensibly a Human nation, both Oni and Inchlings have settled in the land's borders and work alongside the Shrine Maiden.

Centered at the Hakurei Shrine, the isolation of a supposedly secular government in a Shinto shrine has raised some eyebrows. Supporters of the Shrine Maiden state it is only logical she rule from the most prominent building in the Republic. Her critics claim the Republic exists not out of benevolence, but so she can give cushy jobs to her friends while doing less work herself. Criticism has grown increasingly common as Reimu has begun experiencing nightmares and visions of the future. Still, the Hakurei Shrine Maiden has proven herself as a leader, placing herself and her friends as a bulwark against threats old and new.

 

Myouren Temple

Leader: President Byakuren Hijiri

Capital: Myouren Temple

Species: Youkai, Humans, Ghosts

Government: Directorial Republic

Description: Born from the schism of the Human Village, the Myouren broke away in rejection of the secular ethos of the Hakurei and the ascetic stoicism of Senkai. Claiming the Myouren Temple and the Western Human Village, Myouren is comprised of Buddhist practitioners, both Human and Youkai. Their faith in the Buddha insures their people are optimistic and joyful. Conflicts between citizens are few, and the land has prospered under Hijiri Byakuren’s rule. But not all is well in Myouren. The schism and the division of the Human Village has left many humans resentful. Youkai and Humans remain slow to integrate, with many Youkai looking down upon Humans as inferior Buddhists.

For now, Myouren has attempted to establish itself with neighboring nations. Senkai, though hostile, has relocated far from Myouren’s lands. Relations with the Hakurei Republic remain icy, but an enduring truce remains between the two. Youkai Mountain seems receptive to future relations, but that risks putting Myouren in conflict with the Scarlet Empire. Still, the example of the Buddha lights the way for Myouren.

 

The Netherworld

Leader: Queen Yuyuko Saigyouji I

Capital: Hakugyokurou

Species: Ghosts, Shikigami, Youkai, Humans

Government: Absolute Monarchy

Description: Once beyond the Sanzu River, the Netherworld was where the dead went, before being reincarnated in the waking world. Though with no government or law, the figure of Yuyuko Saigyouji was universally admired and adored by the spirits. With the barrier between our world and the Outside Realm sealed, the Sanzu River has dried. The Netherworld was forced into Gensokyo proper, and the Yama vanished from the land. With no one else to lead them, the ghosts of the Netherworld chose Yuyuko Saigyouji as their queen.

The Netherworld has been mostly silent since the formal coronation of their queen. Unlike the conquests of the Scarlets or the public works of the Underworld, the Netherworld was content to live in isolation. Relying on the fear others had for their kind to insure peace, though that also means the Netherworld has no friends or allies in other nations. With Gensokyo once more on the brink of war however, Yuyuko may be forced to choose between a dream of peace, or saving the dying land.

 

Scarlet Empire

Leader: Empress Remilia of House Scarlet I

Capital: Scarlet Castle Town

Species: Vampires, Magicians, Demons, Humans, Fairies

Government: Autocratic Empire

Description: The nature of the Scarlet Empire is one often contested by its people. To the Hakurei, Youkai Mountain or the Fairies, the Scarlet Empire is an aggressive conqueror. Bent on subjugating all others to its will. To the citizens of the Empire—and likely Empress Remilia herself—the Scarlet Empire is a source of stability and calm in a time of desperation. With its lands capably defended by its legions of Maids, Librarians and Blood Knights, its borders are kept safe from roaming Youkai, Bandits and Fairies. Here equality between all races is enforced. Travelers can journey along its roads in safety, and its cultural life is rich. The shining example of this equality is Scarlet Castle Town. A city which has grown around the Scarlet Devil Manor. Largely made of refugees, the growing metropolis now boasts the highest quality of life among the various nations. The Empress herself is said to carefully insure the livelihood of each citizen, even if she leaves the details to her weary Head Maid. Yet all can agree the lands of Gensokyo are more exciting with the Empress on the march.

 

Senkai Theocracy

Leader: Saint Toyosatomimi no Miko

Capital: Divine Spirit Mausoleum

Species: Hermits, Ghosts, Undead, Humans

Government: Theocratic Autocracy

Description: One of the splinter factions of the Human Village, Senkai originally had its entrance at the base of the Myouren Temple. As the distrust between the three factions grew, Senkai’s leader Toyosatomimi no Miko, chose to lead her people into the wilderness of Gensokyo. Reaching the northwestern edge of the land, the Hermits and Sages used the last of their magic to transport the Divine Spirit Mausoleum to the edge of Gensokyo. The last legendary display of magic the land may have ever seen.

Unlike the merry Buddhists or the Shinto-leaning secularists of Hakurei, Senkai shamelessly promotes itself as a theocracy. The ascetics of Senkai ostracize themselves, hoping to find enlightenment through self-control and inner wisdom. Their bitter parting from the Human Village insure the distrust of both Hakurei and Myouren. Some optimists within Senkai propose approaching Eientei or the Scarlets, though allying with one will likely mean the exclusion of the other. Others propose approaching the Netherworld, but the queen of the dead is far from Senkai. Only time will tell, if the way of the Tao will survive the coming war…

 

The Underworld

Leader: Underqueen Satori Komeiji I

Capital: Palace of the Earth Spirits

Species: Satori, Oni, Hellravens, Youkai

Government: Constitutional Monarchy

Description: Soon after the fall of magic within Gensokyo, a famine broke out within Former Hell. Oni clans began to starve, plunging them into tribal warfare. Moved by the suffering of the Oni and other inhabitants of Former Hell, Satori Komeiji ventured into Former Hell accompanied by her servants, Rin Kaenbyou and Okuu Reiuji. Manipulating her power to see into the hearts of others, Satori was able to negotiate a lasting peace with the Oni. Providing them with resources from the surface in exchange for peace and loyalty. So successful was her negotiation, many from both Former Hell and her home of Chireiden asked Satori to be made their queen. Fearing a tyrant rising to rule Former Hell if she adopted democratic morals, she agreed to serve as the Underworld’s Queen. Within a year, both Chireiden and Former Hell had fully unified beneath the Underqueen Satori Komeiji, and her royal cabinet formed.

With the two lands now unified under their Queen, she has set about insuring the famine of Former Hell never repeat itself. Being one of the youngest factions in Gensokyo, the realm has no strong ties to other factions, but no bad blood either. With a unified and adoring nation behind her, the future for the Underworld may well be bright, if Satori can keep her land unified.

 

The Youkai Mountain

Leader: CEO Kanako Yasaka

Capital: Moriya-shi

Species: Youkai, Tengu, Kappa, Humans

Government: Theocratic Corporatism

Description: The denizens of Youkai Mountain were the first to face the wrath of the Scarlet Empire. As the Scarlet Devil Army marched upon the city of Genbu to establish her dominion over Gensokyo, the goddess Kanako rallied what allies she could. With the help of a Tengu army, she made her way to Genbu. Though her army was defeated, the valiance of her, Suwako and the Tengu insured the Kappa turned to her for protection.

Unlike other nations, Kanako does not couch her newly formed nation in terms of theocracies, or of nobility. Nor does she concede to Outside World concepts, such as Republics or Democracy. Instead, she rules her nation more akin to a corporation. One where she is both the owner, and the chief merchandise. It is her hope that by increasing faith to her and the other goddesses of the Mountain, her power might grow indefinitely. Using this wealth and power, she can expand Youkai Mountain’s industry and population, becoming a true dominant force in Gensokyo. Despite the recent war with the Scarlet Empire, the peace between the two continues to stand. For now, Youkai Mountain is safe…

Crazed Fairies

Leader: Clownpiece

Species: Fairies

Description: Fairies have consistently been a menace throughout Gensokyo. A persistent but typically harmless threat for Humans and Youkai alike. But with the falling magic of Gensokyo, many fairies have been driven mad. Either from thoughts of their own future mortality, or the loss of their magical abilities. Often mistaken for members of the Fairy Queendoms, Crazed Fairies typically are marauding warbands, supplementing their failing magic with stolen weapons from other factions. Though with no true leader, the mad fairy Clownpiece is often regarded as a folk hero among these little terrors.

 

Lunarian Observers

Leader: Ringo

Species: Lunarians, Moon Rabbits

Description: The interest of the Lunatic Kingdom in both Earth and Gensokyo has been long established, and long a source of concern. As the barrier to the Outside World solidifies, the only known path from Gensokyo remains the Dream World. Though even this is closing. With Gensokyo soon to be completely isolated, Lunarian agents sent to monitor the situation have appeared with growing frequency. Their secretive nature however means their purpose is unknown.

 

Otherworldly Ventures Inc.

Leader: CEO Oscar Diggs

Species: Humans

Description: In a land like Gensokyo, most humans who appear live only a short time. Some are hunted by wild Youkai, or die of starvation and exposure. Those who survive usually integrate into human societies. Otherworldly Ventures however is an exception. Established by recent human arrivals to Gensokyo, Otherworldly Ventures regards this mystic land not as a source of occult knowledge or wisdom. But as a financial venture. Retrieving magic and artifacts, before selling their prizes to wealthy clientele in both Gensokyo and Earth. It is unknown how they transport themselves through the now inaccessible Great Hakurei Barrier, but their access to modern firearms and finances seems to prove their claims.

 

The Pit of Sin

Leader: First Mask True Romantic

Species: Sinsacks, Humans (?)

Description: Of all the creatures of Gensokyo, Sinsacks are one of the rarest, oddest and most overlooked. Most humans who pass through Gensokyo do so either by accident or to learn more of the occult. Sinsacks however begin life as humans drawn to Gensokyo in search of love. Recognizable by the white sacks marked with kanji over their heads, it is unknown if wearing these is to disguise their identity, or marks them ascending to a form of lesser Youkai. They were a persistent but minor irritant to the maidens of Gensokyo. That is, until their current leader came to power. Rising to the rank of First Mask, the Sinsack True Romantic has unified the many disparate bands of Sinsacks across Gensokyo. Promising to tutor them in the ways of passion, and insuring every Sinsack has his happily-ever-after with the Youkai girl of their dreams.

 

Purification Brigade

Leader: Hahayao Ikari

Species: Humans

Description: With the ever-present dangers of Gensokyo, it is only natural that one of the first factions to form was a group like the Purification Brigade. Founded soon after the shattering of the Danmaku Rules, the Brigade is made of a handful of human-supremacists. Believing that humanity should fear and reject all other races and claim the heartland of Gensokyo for humanity, the Purification Brigade is led by the enigmatic Hahayao Ikari. Though the Purification Brigade remains passive for now, it is known that Ikari seeks a protégé to continue her work in the event of her death…

 

Sanguine Warband

Leader: Sanguine Rose

Species: Vampires (Elites and Commanders), Fairies

Description: Once an army in service of the Scarlet Empire, Sanguine Rose led her army in an attack on Genbu Ravine in the last weeks of the First Scarlet War. The bloody massacre of the Kappa and the Youkai army which came to aid it earned Sanguine Rose the moniker ‘the Scourge of Genbu’. Negotiations between the newborn Scarlet Empire and the Youkai began soon after. In penance for the massacre at Genbu, Empress Remilia took only a token amount of lands from the Youkai, and agreed to a truce between the two nations. This peace so shocked her servant Sanguine Rose that the demon left with her part of the Scarlet Devil Army. The Sanguine Warband has since wandered the furthest reaches of the Scarlet Empire, raiding the lands of the Fairies and Youkai Mountain. Though a minor threat compared to the Scarlet Empire, it is Sanguine’s hope to again earn her Mistress’s respect and affection through conquest.

 

Sisterhood of Witches

Leader: Lumagician Yuuto Ichika

Species: Humans, Magicians, Youkai, Demons (Elites), Dolls, Shikigami (Servants)

Description: The Sisterhood of Witches had its origins early in Gensokyo history, as an informal network of sorcerers in loose cooperation. With Gensokyo slowly receding from the Outside World, covens of these witches again band together. Not to share grimoires and reagents, but to defend their interests as magic-users. With leading figures of the movement like Patchouli and Marisa joining other factions, the covens have elected Lumagician Yuuto Ichika as their leader. While the young mage accepted this honor with grace and enthusiasm, her election may simply be so the older witches could influence the impressionable Lumagician to do as they please.

 

Wild Youkai

Leader: Rumia

Species: Youkai

Description: Wild Youkai have perpetually been a threat in the world of Gensokyo, and once in the Outside World as well. But over the past century, the Youkai have receded as a threat. Regarded as a threat by humans and uncivilized by their own kind, these creatures lived in isolation in the most remote parts of Gensokyo. With magic draining from Gensokyo however, the Wild Youkai have used this as an opportunity to organize. Led by the once fearsome Youkai known as Rumia, the Wild Youkai hope to gorge themselves on humans for the first time in centuries…

Season 125 / 2010 AD

The Great Hakurei Barrier begins to experience fluctuations in its power. Yukari Yakumo mistakenly assumes this is a natural phenomenon which will stabilize.

 

Season 133 / 2018 AD

The Great Hakurei Barrier begins to ‘solidify’, becoming more difficult to pass through. While concerning, few within take notice.

Lunarian reconnaissance missions to Gensokyo begin to increase rapidly.

 

Season 138 / 2023 AD

The magic within Gensokyo begins to drain. The fading magic makes Danmaku Battles impossible. Desperate Youkai begin to hunt humans, either for food or to purify the world, and the powers of even the strongest Youkai begins to decline.

Cirno, noticing the rise in violence, uses her powers to create the Misty Ice Castle as a sanctuary for any fairies who wish to take shelter there. She declares herself the Misty Queen of the castle and lands around.

Driven by starvation and poverty, war breaks out among the Oni clans of Former Hell.

The Sisterhood of Witches across Gensokyo meet in secret, planning for a future in the event of the collapse of magic. While the Covens are weakened by Patchouli and Marisa’s followers pledging themselves to the Scarlets and Hakurei Shrine instead, the organization’s elders choose to name Lumagician *** as their leader instead.

 

Season 139 / 2024 AD

Remilia declares the formation of the Scarlet Empire.

The Human Village, unsure of how to react, turns to its religious leaders. Reimu Hakurei, Hijiri Byakuren and Toyosatomimi no Miko agree to form a unified government, establishing the Protectorate of the Human Village.

Rallying her allies and minions, Empress Remilia declares war upon Youkai Mountain as a display of her power. This begins the First Scarlet War between the Scarlet Empire, and an alliance between Youkai Mountain, the Kappa and the Human Village.

Accompanied by her loyal followers, Satori Komeiji descends into Former Hell, negotiating a peace among the Oni and earning their respect.

With many of their kind hunted by the Scarlet Empire, Human Village or other factions, the Wild Youkai meet to choose a new leader. Hoping the once-fearsome Rumia will grow to be the menace of centuries past, she is named the head of several Wild Youkai packs.

Rumors begin to rise in the Human Village and other enclaves of Humanity of a force of Outsider humans from Earth. This coalition from various nations is led by a wealthy magnate named Oscar Diggs, seeking valuable magic relics and specimens of Youkai. While the organization is soon banned in the Human Village, the group begins to draw any human desperate enough to join them.

The Eientei Dominion declares its formation.

 

Season 140 / 2025 AD

After defeating the Youkai at the base of Youkai Mountain, Remilia orders an attack upon the Kappa at Genbu Ravine. Her servant Sanguine Rose cuts a bloody swathe through the defenders. The battle proves so bloody the Empress choses to negotiate peace with the alliance. Sanguine Rose is exiled, and leaves with a large portion of the Empire’s forces.

Calls rise to name Satori queen of Former Hell. Not wanting to be a tyrant but fearing to allow one, Satori agrees to become their queen, in exchange for establishing a parliament in Former Hell.

Rumors circulate from the wilderness of a Sinsack who has declared himself the ruler of his kind. Enacting a strict training regimen for the normally listless Sinsacks, the pests have grown to become a true threat…

The Netherworld coronates Yuyuko Saigyouji as its Queen.

 

Season 141 / 2026 AD

Driven by disagreements on politics, religion and losses in the First Scarlet War, the Protectorate of the Human Village collapses into three factions. The Myouren Temple and Hakurei Republic agree to divide their lands along the length of the Canal of Willows. Senkai and their Taoist followers decide instead to leave the human village, to establish a theocracy on the edge of Gensokyo.

The Second Scarlet War begins, as Remilia turns her attention to the Fairies driving refugees to her kingdom. Mistakenly believing they come from the Misty Ice Castle, she attacks the Misty Fairy Queendom. In desperation, Cirno agrees to share power with the Three Fairies of Light in exchange for their help. The Scarlet Devil Army is only stopped when the Hakurei Republic joins the war. Together, they succeed in stopping the Scarlet Empire.

Former Hell’s Constitution is established. The Constitution and Parliament are approved by Satori, forming the Underground.

Fearful of the future, a handful of concerned humans join together. Pulled by memories of the former Hakurei Shrine Maiden, they name their organization the Purification Brigade.

 

Season 142/2027 AD

Species: Creation God (suppressed due to lack of faith after failing to save the humans in the animal realm)

Personal Power: Idol creation

Abilities: Able to make many things out of clay.

Occupation: Sculptor

Nationality: The underworld

Appearance: it’s her usual look, with one difference. She wields a clay gauntlet on her right hand, in which she uses to fight. It covers her entire arm, and is crafted to be able to flex decently well due to it being made of multiple plates. 
Personality: Kind and sweet, caring for her creations and those close to her as her children. When she needs to be serious, she gets much scarier, especially after having to fend for herself and Mayumi for so long.

Background: After the incident in hell involving the animal spirits, Keiki was left to her own devices on the surface with only Mayumi by her side. She wandered, not really knowing what to do and slowly losing all the faith she had. Along the way, she met Chimata and became fast friends, as they were in similar situations faith wise. Left with almost none, she got desperate. Seeing people begin to split and argue, she decided to retreat underground, eventually finding an ally in the oni, as they respected her innate strength and ingenuity. Minor factions are inherently hostile. They may have their own goals, but they're meant as a threat. What did you have in mind? Maybe one of the other factions will be a good fit.

Yeah that would place your character in opposition to the other players. Not to mention the minor factions are going to be stirring trouble with everyone, so its kind of a bad time. I am guessing you want to play your Nopperabu? His best shot into fitting in the game is probably with Hakurei or Myouren. Hakurei, though human-centric, is open to Youkai, so he could fit in there. Myouren on the other hand, while more friendly to Youkai, also is Buddhist-oriented, so he might be frowned upon there. Alternatively, you could make your character unaligned. Unaligned characters are either travelers, or live in small communities. This helps your character fit in if they are an awkward fit, but it also means you won't have any connections or allies in bigger factions.

Lunarian technology will be present, but unless you have ties to Eientei it won't be available, and most of their advanced tech will be saved for their elites. Same with Kappa technology. There is also Outsider technology, though most won't know how it works. You would have to scavenge that yourself, or purchase it from an Otherworldly Ventures vendor later in the story.

Both modern and historical firearms exist, but they normally won't be that effective against Youkai, Demons or Ghosts without some preparation, and most natives have no idea how this technology works.

She wandered, not really knowing what to do and slowly losing all the faith she had. Along the way, she met Chimata and became fast friends, as they were in similar situations faith wise. Left with almost none, she got desperate. Seeing people begin to split and argue, she decided to retreat underground, eventually finding an ally in the oni, as they respected her innate strength and ingenuity. This eventually led to her siding with satori, hoping to one day gain some normalcy and accepting her newer nature of being more youkai like.

I'll be honest, not what I expected as the first Player Character for the game. Approved!

 

I will caution you her idols have probably been growing weaker due to her declining faith and the loss of magic in Gensokyo, but that is normal for ever character. Even Reimu has lost her ability to fly for instance.

For now, characters like Keiki and Alice are still able to construct things like idols and dolls. But they aren't quite like they used to be. How, is up to you to decide. They might be weaker, they might be more willful and independent, they may be slower, need much more work to build or they may simply not animate sometimes. Which Keiki is more likely to experience is up to you.

Actually, I was pretty prepped on that, since this Keiki iteration is based on my headcanons for her. My personal belief of how it went is the she lost the ability to imbue the idols with souls and have them be autonomous like Mayumi. Mayumi is the only one with her soul intact by now, but Keiki can directly control uninhabited idols.

Background: It is unknown what was her past. She joined the Hakurei Republic in 2026.
Friend: Suika Ibuki, so she can compensate for her weakness.
Rival: The Youkai Mountain, specifically the kappas.

Equipment: Flower Tank, Evil Eye Sigma and a gun for self-defense.

Sounds good. Just don't have her followed by a squad of idols equipped for war and it should be good. You're a sensible boy, I trust your judgment.

Haa, I did not expect to see Rika showing up. Since the Flower and Shrine tanks are kind of minimally depicted, did you envision them as 'real' tanks or more primitive tanks? Are you sure you don't want a personal power or friend? These could be plot-hooks in the future.

We have our first OC and Genghis Khan decides to join us. Jokes aside, looks good. Do you see his knowledge of guns being exclusive to muskets, or extending to modern firearms, Kappa tech or Lunarian sci-fi tech? Being knowledgeable in muskets will help him with all firearms to a certain extent either way.

 

Can't wait to get Senji and Rika alone in a room with Reimu eventually.

I see the Flower and Shrine Tanks that are new in Gensokyo. Because there are no way characters in the "cannon" story of Touhou freaking make a tank. That all sounds good. I'm cool with ypu having a steampunk style tank, or even like an actual tank that's been heavily modified. Imagine a Panzer with a cannon modified to shoot pumpkins for instance. Just as long as you aren't completely invincible or are pumping these things out by the dozen. Suika sounds like a good fit. Approved.

Juuni, how would you feel about Keiki being sent as a diplomatic envoy to Youkai Mountain to ask for their help with getting their reactor working at full capacity. Your escort could be ambushed by one of the minor factions, giving you a chance to show off and Keiki to bump into Rikako and Senji.
