  1. ASMR? I believe I've heard of it oh, yes! Arni Village. They've tons of quality work there. I'd recommended you to give it a try. Oh wait! does stand up comedy like (manzai) count? If so, Official R-NOTE might be the answer I'm looking for. (This could very well be a forum of its own) Often, they have japanese oriented jokes but the gags were so funny that I fell out of the chair. One of my favourite is My head's completely empty like an infamous ice fairy for now.
  2. Your conditions & mine are very much the same. Truly we're on the same wavelength. (I'd admit that I'll go into to the non-safe doujins but not with the excuse of the "I read it because of the story" or "cause I'm bored lol".) With that out of the way No.3. This point I've wondered for a while; why do they always draw the faceless protag? to self-insert myself in, no for the sake of the Lord above, can they just draw normal eyes and move on. ( not the snake face; bald villager either) Just because fans can finally fulfil their "fantasy" which is, then again, quite messed up in my opinion like yours do.
  3. I'd feel like I'm accompanying Komachi every time I try to draw Iku in a all sort of poses. (Not mentioning Yukari, Kasen, Meiling & other chinese related accessories.)
  4. I hope so too. Then we can properly discuss about it creating a lot more interesting picks. Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm not going to accept the fact the the 'minor looking' character are 1000 years old, Thus, it's legal. They still look like minor, often acts like minor so, keep that kind of thing away from me. I shall be quite honest with you all. Even if I go to the doujinshis for the "naughty" stuff. I have a fair bit of decency to avoid "minors art." Granted, I still have to meet the Yama for that kind of stuff. I'm tired so, I'll be hitting the bed. Gents and ladies have a fair good night.
  5. It does feel like it sometime. When I first joined Touhou which was not long ago. I asked myself why are most of the characters with skirt. Sure, the design are cool. My former self did not understand it even now. Maybe that's why there's a running gag in the community that "Pants" wearing Characters are so iconic. No worries, I also get myself heated by thinking about those things and properly explaining it to my sister. The analysis was pretty decent.
  6. For me, I think she doesn't wear pants most of the time. For the other half, I believe she just wears it when she feels like it. She may wear pants on her duty. My own head cannon is 60% no pants & 40% pants for the time being. Oh, that biker suit! That actually speaks for itself I can't believe I miss that. As VonNumenor said it makes it even more fanservice-y in Lost Word and in official material itself.
  7. Mine too. Totally, he want to flex to Marisa. That slip past through my mind. Thank you for pointing that out.
  8. I definitely agree with you right here. She have a cool factor with the white pants but the chinese dress is more iconic just like Yuugi. Those are all very fair points. Pardon me for my lack of knowledge. 1 & 3 seems logical to me. This time, I'll be bringing frills on the table. So, which character do you think have the best frills design. I'll choose Iku.
  9. If we're talking about fashion, we can't leave Meiling out of it can we? She can be seen wearing white pants in Hisoutensoku Rarely in Fanon can she be seen with her pants or pantis. But in Perfect Memento In Strict Sense Nothing at all. I would really appreciate your take in Meiling wearing pants or not.
  10. Interesting, I completely missed the fact she actively studies medicine. So, in her spare time, she might as well go around the earth and other places to make medicine. Very good points. I believe I overlooked both of them. The next character to speak English would be Mamizou, considering she has lived so long and can travel in & out of Gensokyo. After all, she seems to be the kind of person to get a hold of new knowledge and keep it for herself. I think most of them won't bother to look into English even if the kappas created all-purpose language machine. The pleasure is all yours for feeding my curious mind.
  11. This idea came around when I was drawing Yukari (Damm, Frills), That is when it hit me that she wears very western-ish clothes. Meanwhile, her other dress is in Chinese style; the one that she normally wears. Maybe, just maybe, she can speak English and possibly other Touhou characters too? The Scarlet Devil Mansion was the first place to come in my mind. The Scarlet Crew moved into Gensokyo: Sakuya looks like a french maid, Meiling is Chinese etc. The mansion also has a western design. So, I assumed they can speak English very well? Suzunaan, Kosuzu have all the books in there, so, she could learn & speak English from the books? Could Yukari speak it too? She has a very western dress and have access to the gaps that leads to the outside world. Akyu knows a lot about history as she studies Gensokyo and possibly other histories? Keine might also teach English in her school as she also gets reference from Akyu's studies. After all, she's associated with History. Rinnosuke, typical merchant stuff, right? Things that got lost should come into Gensokyo, and since Morichika likes to keep unusual stuff, he is bound to come across some foreign items that will entice him. Just a little thought I had when drawing.
  12. She is too badass with her sake and kimono. Suika might also work.
  13. I thought she was carrying a stone at first.
  14. For me, she's a very mature and a fair lady. Her height would be not too tall but not too short either. She's in the middle, like ying and yang.
  15. Touhou won't be going down any time soon. Over time, it will gradually become mainstream. Well, ZUN's got a lot of ideas at his disposal, and that's always a good thing. There will always be the good and the bad in every fandom. The western side has its own fair share of quality. On the bright side, we'll be getting games steadily on steam, steadily and possibly new work from ZUN himself. Now, that reminds me of a similar fandom, most notably the Team Fortress 2 fandom. Pardon me for including another fandom, but it has been 14 years since Tf2 came out. The community was abandoned by Valve and was overrun by bots. There were no updates, no new weapons, nothing. Did the community fall? Not only didn't it fall, but the fandom kept the game alive for years. Even then, it's still going strong. Getting back to the point, for the future of Touhou, it depends on the fans. That's my take. At the end of the day, there's one thing certain. That is, even if the worst of the worst happens, our dedicated fandom will always stay put.
