  2. So umh.... hello everyone! It's been quite a while since i joined the forum (and haven't written anything expect my introduction because i'm lazy and i was busy with things in general) and i wanted to talk about a question that has been on my mind for some months. It all started when i started to compare fanfictions of other series with Touhou fancfictions and realised something. That fanfics about Touhou could range from dramatic, to horror to comedic or any genrre and still feel appropriate to the series and its characters (more or less depending on the context but still). Let me explain. If i think of a series like Azur Lane, Genshin Impact or in general any kind of series which isn't really that serious (and isn't made for being serious generally speaking), i don't think of a scenario in which this character can live dramatic or horror-like situation without thinking "This feel misplaced, i can't actually imagine things going this way" And i'm not saying that these kind of games can't have dramatic/tragic/sad moments (Azur Lane has some of them for example), but they tend to be (especially if we're talking about gacha games) focused on a cutesy and fun story with little to no serious elements. Touhou is different. The story of Touhou has both serious and light-harted moments (this has already been talked about several times by people like GensouChronicle. His videos really inspired me when i started thinking about this question), which means that if i wanted to make a tragic story with the characters, i could do it without feeling that it doesn't really fit the story (or the characters). The same goes if i wanted to make a slice-of-life in which i write about little moments in the life of a character (or multiple characters, of course). Maybe i'm just overthinking things? (of course this can be applied to any games that isn't Touhou, i could have said DOOM, Castlevania and so on, i've just picked Touhou as an example since its my favourite series and i love it so much).
  3. I think i went insane for a little bit.
i saw a plushie of a snowman sideways and thought it was Yukari's hat because it had the same red string as her hat.

  4. Believe me, it wasn't easy doing all of those (i hate with all of my being Touhou 11 because of Orin and HER STUPID STAGE) but i guess it's something that i developed while playing the games. And regarding discussions, sure why not! Although.... I'm completely ignorant at how this site works and i have the same skills at communicating as a table. But if have time, i'll surely try to think about something to discuss!
  5. So.... Hi i'm just someone who (around the time of late middle school/early high school) found random clips of Memories of Phantasm and said "woah it seems really good! What is this?" Then i started to dive down into the music and then one day i said "I want to learn more about this thing called "Touhou"!" And from there it became my favourite series and i became a passionate fan of it. Thanks to this wonderful site, i had the possibility to play the official games and not only did i do a Normal 1cc of every game i played (currently trying to complete Touhou 16) but i became a fan of shoot'em ups too! Also, Touhou made me start writing stories about the series, especially after i read other's fanfictions and fell in love with them too. So yeah, sorry for the long post or for the (likely) spelling mistakes (as English is my second language, i hope you can forgive me), but thank you Moriya Shrine for existing and i hope i can try to discuss the lore and the philosophy of Touhou with other people :)!
