Why do most of the characters in Touhou 1 not look like they were made by ZUN?

I mean, i guess ZUN tried to do his best at drawing in PC-98, it ended ... Fine i think. I fell kinda the same from SoEW but it's style was getting form (when he go into LLS and MS he improved a lot, in terms of PC-98 limitations), I like his old drawings, i fell a wierd nostalgia reminding, even if i used to play those games 2020.

Wait that's me as a doll? Yeah, Alice helped me on doing those. She doesn't look like a doll! I played so much Lemmings on my pc, so i got some inspirations of this! Oh boy...
