Touhou Mods Thread






The Touhou Puppets Play ROM hack and the trailer for a hack featuring a number of franchises, including Touhou.
 




Touhou mods for Team Fortress 2, a team multiplayer shooter. There aren't many, adding only a few maps and changing the character models.
 
This post will cover mods for Manhunt and Manhunt 2. For those that don't know, they're a pair of horror games where the player must survive being pitted against several groups of criminals. The mods change the character models (and for once their mouths move too).
This was an unexpected find; I didn't know people modded these games.
Just a warning if you're curious enough to look these up: the violence is a little gruesome. Not heinous, but a little over the top.
 






This post will cover mods for Left For Dead 2. For those who don't know, its a zombie horde shooter where a team of four has to reach the end of the level while surviving an endless onslaught of enemies. The most common mods for this game change the character models of the players and zombies.
 





A number of Touhou mods have popped up for Friday Night Funkin, a rhythm game that was popular several years ago.
These mods add scenarios with their own songs and bosses.
 
There's a couple of mods for The Binding of Isaac that add Touhou characters as bosses and their spell cards.
 





Just found out that there were Touhou mods for GTA 4. As usual, they change the character models.
 



Found some Touhou mods for a game called Age of History 2. It plays similarly to Risk and the Civilization games.
You play as a Touhou character that functions like a faction and march your army across Gensokyo to conquer it.
 


Touhou mods for Dawn of War. ...I have no idea what this does. The video was the only thing that mentions them (it?) at all.
 
This post will shine light on mods for Tabletop Simulator. For those who don't know, it's a game where you can play a variety of games like board games and card games in both single player or multiplayer. In addition to the large library of games available there are also mods that add new games or build upon existing ones.
There's a healthy amount of Touhou mods. Some add Touhou content to existing games like Cards Against Humanity while others add their own original games. Some of the best mods in my opinion are the Touhou TTRPG mods, which I recommend if you like playing Dungeons and Dragons,
Pathfinder, etc.

As a second entry to the thread, I wanted to talk about mods for Slay the Spire.
For those who don't know, Slay the Spire is a deck building rouge-like game where the player picks a character and steadily builds their deck as they win cards in encounters, discover them during dungeon events, or buy them in the shop.
Everything you encounter across the three stages is random, ensuring a unique experience every run.

A lot of Touhou mods have been published on Slay the Spire's Steam Workshop, namely characters that have their own decks.
Said decks have their own unique mechanics that you'll never see in the vanilla decks.
There aren't many characters to choose from, but you have some of the popular ones at least.
I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves card games and rouge-likes in general.
However, I should warn you that some of the mods are broken and prevent the game from booting up due to the issues in their code.

This post will cover mods for E.E.R.I.E 2. For those who don't know, its an ambitious sequel to the first game where the player is a fairy fighting in a war that broke out in Gensokyo. It's an open world FPS where scavenging and tactics play a key part in the gameplay.
At the time of this post, there were a small number of character mods for the game, but an update rendered them useless.
The game itself is in early access and is still in development.

Where is the game? Is there a steam page for it? (nvm I found it.)
Upon a look, it seems to be a sort of Touhou version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Thanks for bringing this up!
