Thoughts on the EOSD remake?

If this is actually real, I'll NEED to make my Daddy get this for me on the Nintendo Switch 2. Unless it's ridiculously expensive.
 
Man EOSD on steam? And a remake no less? what a time to be alive. it will surely be nice to play with the quality of life features that EOSD lacks. The visuals do look good but the original wasnt really in dire need of a remake on that front either way (as opposed to something like the pc-98 games). Im really curious how the re-arrangments will sound. I do also wonder what the pricing will be, tho i'll buy it either way as long as it doesnt stray too far from the regular touhou prices.

ZUN... That absolute madlad.... Can't believe that this is ACTUALLY real. Also, it'd just be better to get it on the Nintendo Switch 2, as if I do that, I might could get my Daddy and sister to play a Touhou game. Hehehe

As far as I saw, ZUN might actually be planning to remake some of the other Touhou games as well. Crazy! I'm just interested in how it'll all turn out.

The website says it will be 1990 yen or about 12.50 USD. (Also I agree but if we are getting more remakes we are sure as hell getting 7 and 8 before the PC-98 games unfortunately) https://touhou-project.news/shanghai-alice-reprise/
 
I'm glad to see Th6 getting a new version, and especially since its available for everyone, but i'd like to warn everyone:

ZUN is starting to do remakes/remasters, which is the death of new ideas and making money off an already existing product. AAA gaming is doing the same death spiral. It means he has run out of ideas.

Usually it is like that, but who knows with ZUN. The man's had continuous ideas for Touhou for nearly 30 years.

After over 2 decades of new stuff, i wouldnt be too mad if ZUN dialed it down a bit and focused a bit on the older games. Also i doubt touhou would undergo the same decay as the AAA industry, as remakes and remasters are just one of the symptoms of a larger issue plaugeing it.

That is what I'm thinking he's doing too. He's probably taking a break from making the big Touhou games and dialing back to remake some of his older games.

Thats quite a bit cheaper than i would have expected. hell 20 USD would already be a decently cheap price, so im glad its so affordable. Also yeah i agree, they wont move onto pc-98 before remaking the early games. Id be a bit suprised if we hear anything about pc-98 them untill the 2030's.

I don't want to seem too negative and/or pessimistic, but the latest titles were a bit underwhelming for me.

Fair point, hopefully he will use the revisit to the older titles as a source for inspiration for the newer ones, but I do see it as a bad omen for now.
