just found a really nice song through memes, well not really, but to me at least. It's like hits you really hard in a really slow way? Basically the way it delivers is very normal, but the aftermath kinda stuck with you.

hey do guys feel like a room full of people is also the equivalent of an empty room? It's not like a sad thing tho, well kinda, but not at all. Of course, there is still a difference between them, one is with sounds and the other doesn't, idk tho, that's kinda crazy. There's also something else I want to talk about but I forgot. Anyways, I recently listened to another song by King Crimson and one song from David Bowie. It quickly became one of my favorite songs from each of them. I like these two songs, especially Space Oddity.

Driving to work today, a Nathanael Fisherman song came up in the shuffle, and I was reminded of how unique his style is. There's some reggae influence in some of his songs, but I'm more familiar with the heavy post-production morphing into something I can't settle a definition on. I'll also admit struggling to discern the lyrics at times, due to a combination of his heavy accent and rapid delivery; but there are plenty of songs I understand completely, and for those I don't, I can catch enough to appreciate the theme. He's unequivocal in his messaging (which stands out in modern CCM), but retains an artful presentation all the same.

I've known about this artist for over five years now, and it's about time I shared him here.

I started listening to Eurobeat after I fixed my car and started driving again, but I really don't know why though... I guess the feel of Eurobeat fits better with my car's speed maybe. This song in particular though, it just feels like a final send off at the end of a long journey, and I love it. Anyhow, I'll post some more songs later if I remember to.

 
I often come across musicians known for their VGM arrangements, very few of which spend time on original work. A few, however, will take the risk of striking out with the name they've made for themselves for more original work, and the resulting projects often reflect the true levels of skill they've developed.

My favorite from this album was the title track, but I appreciated the visuals of this performance. Eiene's proficiency with instrumentation is on full display, and everyone's enjoy themselves as they always have.


Violet Delta - The Girl Next Door
VD only posted the crossfade, so I made an unlisted video for this (don't tell). The "album" is more of an EP, but for all that it does credit to the musician's years of experience in Touhou arrangements.


RichaadEB - Battle with a Non-Euclidean Foe
The concept alone is perfect for Richaad, as he bends his composition away from standard progression without losing the path. I want to think I'd recognize the idea behind the track even without knowing the title.

I've not been feeling well this month, with one illness after another keeping me behind in preparations. I might not get a better opportunity to post this year's Christmas commemoration, so here it is:

Back in 1988, a collective of CCM artists of the time came together for a Christmas album. While such collaborations aren't necessarily uncommon, they usually feature various singles recorded individually and compiled together without direct interaction between the artists. For this album, however, a song was recorded in which all the artists took part; this was practically unheard of, and it remains one of the most unique performances of that era IMO.

I have traditionally posted Irish folk here on St. Patrick's Day; but to do that, I usually refer to previous postings to ensure I don't refeature songs I've already shared. My posts on this thread are lower priority for repairs, but even that aside I've noticed an exorbitant number of the videos shared here are currently copyright claimed (most of them by the same company, which is bogus, but I digress). Perhaps it's just as well; I was nearing the end of my familiarity of the genre anyway.

As it so happens, I have something else to post anyway. ssbbmaster finally published an album of his original compositions, for which I have earnestly waited for some time. Unusually, I've decided to just post the full album video instead of picking specific tracks, mainly because some of my favorites don't exist as their own videos yet and I'm impatient. For the record, my recommendations are "40 yrs, 95 mph, destination 0", "disconnected" (either version), and "Every Universe's Electrocardiogram is Personalized" (I prefer the instrumental version, but it isn't included in the video).

Modern CCM (technically redundant terminology, so as distinct from "retro CCM") tends to be overly formulaic, especially as the line between it and "modern worship" becomes more and more blurred. As it becomes increasingly difficult to intuit the degree of investment some artists have in their own work, I struggle to appreciate what they subsequently produce; it's difficult to justify 'passion' as a vital aspect of artistic expression, but I often suspect I can feel its absence. As such, I come to value clearer instances thereof more highly. (This principle goes beyond CCM, but is most poignant for me personally there.)

One of the few currently active groups I still feel comfortable recommending is Casting Crowns. Their style isn't particularly unique compared to other groups, and they aren't immune to being formulaic themselves; yet in their songs I often detect a sincere selfless passion for what they're doing, and an authentic commitment to their claimed cause that stands out from so many others in the industry.

For one of the remix tournaments, I submitted an orchestral arrangement from Rush Garcia, mostly due to its unusual method of adaptation; the motifs were so altered as to leave the resulting performance nearly unrecognizable therefrom, resembling more a completely original compositions of full orchestra. After the tournament, I continued to follow Rush Garcia's work, and learned of him to be an especially talented orchestral arranger with a style equally comparable to the classical era and modern film scoring. I figure it's about time I shared some of his work here. For the record, the first two are far more indicative of what I appreciate from him, but it seemed fitting to include the third one to establish his range.

Hey all... I'm back (again)! And... it looks like our website has undergone some changes, everything looks nice. About why I've been gone for awhile though (ALMOST A YEAR NOW), ehh... looks like I couldn't really do what I said I'd do, which is making time for this forum. I got caught up in school work from college (which was tough) and other things. But it's summer now, and I can have fun..... exceppttt I have still have to go to school, although I don't have too many subjects so that's cool. Also I went to that fighting game group that I talked about, it's been really really fun, I'm glad I can have a group to join in irl.

But enough about all of that, here's a piece of music I want to share today. (I noticed that the previous post about me being "back" was also in Akyuu's studio so... lol). I've been trying to play this song, but it seems quite difficult, especially with the time signature and counting the notes, I really have to work on that a lot more. The tableture at the bottom helped me out, but I still have to read to music notes for the rhythm.

Anyways, this is one the most beautiful song for guitar that I've found. Some techniques are simple but it makes the song feels fresh and new. The song was so good that it got me smiling at some parts. It was nothing special or crazy but... it's just that cool! Go play guitar guys!

A bit random, perhaps, but I was reminded lately of the Cosgrove Hall adaptation of Wind in the Willows and it's various adaptations of the book's songs, which IMO are of significant merit. I've additionally included an example of the instrumental music composed for the series, which bares the marks of classical style perfect for the English countryside setting.

A bit less random, perhaps, though such a qualifier is difficult to quantify. Without having engaged in the series from which it proceeds, I yet happened across the soundtrack to the anime Sakamoto Days, and was sufficiently impressed to have it in mind for this thread. The stylistic range is impressive, applying jazz in a variety of tones and moods with some very creative instrumentation at times.
