Share music you like

Been listening to the 'Use Your Illusion' albums quite a lot lately. I Like to imagine the SDM crew as a GNR cover band (Flandre seems on par with Axel's craziness), with this song in particular featuring Alice Cooper.

 
Silksong is out, and I've been blessed to have the day off for it, but Steam won't let me in just now, so I'm stuck waiting without knowing how long it'll be (in hindsight I should have expected this). In the meantime, might as well share some music.

My grandfather did karaoke in his retirement, and our family was privileged to various private performances over the years. He of course favored older songs, introducing us to many pieces we'd likely never have known of otherwise. Two in particular that stand out to me are some songs from Tom T. Hall; their related concepts were such as to be especially suitable for the circumstances in which they were shared.

Completely unrelated, but my family has a tradition to share this unusual performance of "Happy Birthday" on associated occasions. I'm not sure I could explain the habit if I tried, but there's something endearing about the anticipation of it all the same.

Other than Touhou, I really like Metal as a whole, and especially Power Metal.
Got into Labyrinth for a bit now, and trying their album "Return to Heaven Denied", Imma put this song.
 
I've already shared all my Thankgiving music over the years, but I didn't want to leave the day without commemoration of some sort, so I've dug up sometimes vaguely related in an autumn-themed instrumental. Happy Thanksgiving!

This Christmas, I'm sharing some older songs my parents grew up with and shared with my siblings and I as we grew up. They're a bit juvenile, but there's an endearing aspect of the memories being passed down through these songs.

Acquiring some fresh tracks for my library, and was reminded of Roger Miller's "Whistle Stop" from Disney's Robin Hood; I'm a frequent whistler, and this tune is a regular favorite for the exercise. Miller was also responsible for "Muddy Waters" from Big River; while I've never seen the musical, the song is a favorite of mine.

Couple months back I shared Viper Dragoon X's expansion on the "Threefold Melody" from Silksong, on the OGM thread; I've kept tabs on the artist since, and was impressed a recently released original composition.

Subsequently I was reminded of NIVIRO's "You," which I initially heard in a Youtube outro; music composed to be copyright-free tends to be arranged for optimal utility, but occaionally I find something that works perfectly well for casual listening as well.

Aaron Shust released an EP for "Holy Week." I've long appreciated his method of citing the Scriptural inspiration for his lyrics, showing the references line-by-line as the music video plays.

Comedic tunes, a favorite subject amongst the family, but often too specific to be properly shared. Usually.

Title too long, acronym "LJMCCS". Older style of humor with an older style of performance, which itself is an appealing novelty. There's a variety of performances available, with no clearly definitive option; I've heard the song is occasionally utilized as a sort of show-off of vocal ability, but I can't testify to the viability of the claim.
William Bolcom & Joan Morris - Lime Jell-O Marshmallow Cottage Cheese Surprise

"Sweet Violets," another older song with a most unique gimmick I found especially humorous. Unlike the other, there's a clear frontrunner rendition; delivery makes or breaks the joke, and I've not found another performance quite as good as this one.

EDIT: I thought of one. Definitely not old; in fact I strongly suspect it's a mostly AI-assisted production. If so, this would be an appropriate example of proper utilization thereof (I hesitate to say useful). RETCONNED! Moved the track over to Odd Music; here's a different song more thematically consistent with its post companions (and surprisingly obscure into the bargain).

That's their first song of their first album. It isn't as distorted and raw as say Mahavishnu Orchestra but, it still keeps that complex, quick and energetic tone you see in them. It's refined enough to not be tiring to listen but it's more faster and intense than a T-SQUARE or a CASIOPEA.
 
From video games other than Touhou, this is one of the tracks I've been listening to constantly, from Sonic Adventure, my favorite game of the Sonic The Hedgehog series and which I also consider to have the most peak soundtrack in that series. Very powerful.
