Windows and PC98 versions of characters, which you prefer?

There are 4 characters that appear in both eras, PC98 and Windows
Reimu, Marisa, Yuuka and Alice
Which version of each character you prefer?

I personally would prefer all characters of the characters in their PC98 version for the sore exception of Marisa

Reimu seem a little too serious in the Windows era, while in PC98 era she is not so serious (especially in SoEW), and in Windows era she may have her iconic outfit but she doesn't look like a shrine maiden, and i prefer her having longer, purple hairs

Marisa's behavior is similiar but i like her in PC98 era but imo the way she speaks and her design is better in the Windows era

I find Yuuka's most famous line in Mystic Square funny and i haven't ever play any game after PCB (Besides IaMP but i couldn't get past first boss due to me being very confused with the controls and failing to get used to them, i dont even know how to do the combos so i just uninstalled the game and i dont plan on ever touching it again)

I don't know very much about the canon Windows Alice, and when it comes to knowledge about PC98 Alice, i dont know about her much as well but it's PC98 so it's natural, i still know more about PC98 Alice tho since she is both, a 3rd stage boss AND an extra stage boss. When i have to compare what i know about both and their design i would very much prefer PC98 Alice
 
I think I somewhat prefer PC-98 Reimu. I like her design, and is probably one of the best character designs of the PC-98 era, which is fitting, considering Reimu is the protagonist. Her personality also seems to be less "materialistic" than modern Reimu.
Of course, for Alice, I still prefer her in the Windows era.

Also, for IaMP, I was able to map the controls to ones I like (as there's a config file in the game's files), but I can't for the life of me figure out how to declare spell cards. The game somewhat shows you how, but it's impossible for me to even replicate.

Yeah i like playing games in the strict release order, and i was sure its what everyone else do as well

I just play each of the games when I want to. I don't think chronological or release order really matters with Touhou, as most of the games are pretty much stand-alone anyway.
