Touhou lost media

I don't know how to call such a move other than "beautifully shooting yourself in the foot". That was their most successful video by far. It should be noted that Alstroemeria Records did a purge on their YouTube Channel it seems: https://www.youtube.com/@AlstroemeriaRecords/videos

It is an understatement to maintain that I still don't (and probably won't ever) understand what's inside an artist's mind. Anyway, that will open the door for unauthorised reprints again. Well done Alstroemeria! By the way, the video you linked in your previous post, ~Hieda no Akyuu~ ₘᵢₐᵣₑ, has the wrong ID (it was another reprint apparently). This was the original video This was the original PV that the circle uploaded themselves on YouTube (before privating it very recently, after March 2025 according to the Internet Archive):

EDIT: My bad, the video ~Hieda no Akyuu~ ₘᵢₐᵣₑ linked was another upload by Alstroemeria. But that was the full song, not the Bad Apple shadow animation we all know. Do they suddenly want us not remember them for that song? Did they become bored of it?

EDIT2: Their channel only features crossfades now. Perhaps the more plausible explanation would be that the circle don't want us to listen to their music for free on YouTube anymore. I found this in the meantime (it seems they prioritizing their music only "Topic" channel now):

EDIT3 (10/08/2025): It seems that the shadow animation PV has been brought back at least. Did the circle happen to read this thread? Anyway, that's good news. Hope they won't change their mind again.

Sometimes Japanese creators do things like these. I don't know why they did it in this case, but this move is strange.

Well, I think that most AMVs were saved on Web Archive, about music, you can use TLMC.
 
Hello, I think I have some information on Len'en lost media.

First, for some reason the Len'en Wiki (https://lenen.wiki.gg/wiki/Book_of_the_Cafe) says that Book of the Cafe is lost media, I found it by searching 連縁カフェ on APKPure though. I don't know if it's safe, but I did a VirusTotal scan on the latest release and it seems to be fine. It did have to download like 100 MB when I first ran it though (it's a gacha game)

Second, I found an album called Unreal Random Tracklist on the Len'en Wiki, I'm pretty sure this is lost media as the Bandcamp link on the wiki is dead and I can't find the album archived anywhere.
On that note, the infobox there leads to ATOMYK's deleted Youtube channel, they do have a new Youtube channel though. I know it's the old Youtube channel because the link was added on the wiki template before their new one was created, I checked the edit history.

Also, I don't know if you already know about this, but the Miki Hiroyuki/LENK64 Youtube channel seems to have a lot of lost Touhou and Len'en remixes, some of them have been reuploaded and the Len'en arrange album Starry Sky Bridge has had all the tracks extended here, but I can't find the originals.

Yes, I know about this, but I don't think this album is lost media as the tracks were reuploaded.

Actually, a download link to a repackage of Connecting Chain Elevator comes with the album Beyond Nostalgia. I'm not sure if the repackage is any different from the original, but I downloaded it and it doesn't seem to be. There are also some extra versions of tracks not listed on the Len'en Wiki page.

Also, I was looking around TFNT's Twitter and it looks like they uploaded an arrangement of Homunculus Nightmare, but the Youtube link is dead and they haven't reuploaded it.

Ah. We (as in me and thpatch) thought it was the same as the lost mod. But it's missing the Thcrap attribution and the kitsune. So the lost mod is still lost...

Also, does a lost PCB mod I made (and lost) count as lost Touhou media?

This mod has a kitsune and as Visaa said the mod has the same artstyle.

This mod could be indexed by thcrap before but the creator could remove this mod from repo.js later. I think this mod falls under the description Visaa gave.

If you published it somewhere (so somebody could get download it too) and later you removed the upload then it would be a lost media (until another upload of this mod appears).
If you didn't share this mod with anyone then it might be considered as lost media but the chances that it would found are very close to 0.

well, it's lost as in it was only seen in a single video and i lost the files

theres probably a 0% chance, but i'd say it's partially found as i posted a few spritesheets and snapshots onto here:

Interesting. Can you give a link to that video? Can you also give a (short) description of this mod? As I see this mod at least changes textures. Does it change shottypes or ecl scripts?
