The official build has just as many detections. This is a scan of the Steam-version of custom.exe for example:

It is suspicous you need to password lock just one file are you sure you are not just try to obfuscate malware. Also why is the hash different? You tampered it

We protect the archive because we've experienced that Windows Defender often quarantines the file even though it's safe. I'm not sure what hash you're referring to. The only thing we've done with the files is applied a basic no-Steam crack to th20.exe and included thcrap.
The detection comes from custom.exe, which is because ZUN hasn't signed his code. The picture in my previous reply shows the scan from the clean Steam-version of the game.
 
Just tried the game a couple hours ago (I tried the demo back when it was released on here, but I hadn't tried the full game yet), and I personally believe it to be really good! UDoALG's music was partially a letdown to me (still, that one has a lot of good music), but this game has some of the best soundtracks of all the games to me! I think too many people put the game down because of ZUN's use of AI in it (even if it was only a minor amount), but despite me being really wary about all of the AI stuff that has been going on, this game doesn't put it all in your face, so I don't have much of a problem with it. I do love how ZUN incorporated the AI imagery into the story despite how controversial it is. The character designs in this game I feel are probably one of the lower points of this game, but regardless, ZUN's ability to create unique-looking characters is most certainly still strong.

this got to be one of the most interesting touhou games, letting the player mix matching and customizing your shot type to your liking is super cool, though the whole pyramid thing I really don't like personally, you do well and your reward is another enemy? why???

I typed it in manually and it worked for me. Try verifying if you wrote it correctly, and if it still won't work, maybe try using 7zip or something if you're using the Windows built-in unarchiver.
Edit: Or maybe you need to whitelist the folder in Windows Defender or something where you're trying to extract to?

it was a winrar problem. i dont know what that bug is, but i re-downloaded th20 and the password strangely started to work. but ty for the response!
