For those concerned about the game being a virus. I scanned the folder and ran the game. Afterwards scanned my system. Works fine on my machine I guess. The th20 folder the game comes in looks like my th19 steam release folder, so I think it's just a false positive on whatever website yall checked with.

what i was doing wrong was that when the anti virus pop up comes up you click on it click on the new thing (saying what was detected) and put it to something a long the lines of ignore (it was earlier today so i dont fully remember but thats the just of it

i turned off windows security and tried re-extracting the zip and the same "failed to find the file specified" happened again?

set an exclusion folder and extract your files into it. custom.exe especially loves firing up anti-virus, its nothing new, this is why we have a password to circumvent this issues

it finally worked! (although the game does not display properly... I will have to figure out screen resolution issues later)

i opened the game and it crashed for some reason, after that i redownloaded it after deleting the first one and it kept saying "could start because it has malicous software" or "couldnt start because th20.exe is missing" and i whitelisted the game and my th20.exe.bak is intact and in the folder is there a fix?

whitelist the folder containing th20 and delete .bak from that file

we crack the game ourselves, one mod buy the game, grabs the file then we just apply goldberg and voila, done

I dunno if moriya shrine still accepts save files, but here's mine which unlocks all extra stages, practice runs, spell practices, as well as 3 of every starting stones, letting you play anything with any custom shot type you want
Extract this file and copy "scoreth20.dat" to "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ShanghaiAlice\th20"

From touhou 12.5 onward, the save files must be stored in "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\ShanghaiAlice" for the games to read them
