hello everyone!!! i'm new to touhou completely, and idk if it's normal for me to be THIS bad. i got the embodiment of scarlet devil like a week ago and have just been messing around on easy mode, but when i tried normal i got my ass kicked. i played as reimu and her spirit amulet so if i should try a different amulet or marisa pls lmk along with other tips. thx!!! <3

I don't know too much about the EoSD remake on the Switch, but the Touhou games have a "focus" mode which slows your character down.
If you need help with the bullet patterns, I remember someone mentioning before how they see the bullets as a "maze" and try to find themselves through it.

tysm i'll try that!!! :D

Some more advice is that Reimu B (the second shot type) tears through bosses much easier, but at the cost of having to align yourself directly under the boss.
The remake also apparently lowered the damage for Reimu B, but the strategy should still work.
And ultimately, don't worry yourself about being bad at the game. I've played the games for over a year, and I've still yet to complete a 1cc for most of the games just on easy. You always have to be patient with Touhou.

1. It's normal to be this bad. It took me around 35 hours to get decent
2. Practice/memorize stages and bosses extensively
3. Never ever die with bombs in stock. I personally save them for rng-heavy patterns
4. Each shot has a drawback, so try them all and settle on whatever's most comfortable
