Help! Storing my vinyl is becoming a problem.

Over the past couple years I've been slowly building a vinyl record collection. It's still pretty small, I'm much more excited about CDs, but I want to figure this out early before it's a real issue.
What do y'all find to be the best way to store your vinyl? Is a crate the most convenient? Should I look for a good shelf? I really have no idea, I want to keep them safe.

Do you have any room for a bookshelf somewhere?
My family has probably a hundred or so old vinyl records stored in a couple bookshelves at the base of the stairs in our house.

Should I look for a good shelf?
I believe this is the answer you're looking for, not the best one though(?). If you're collecting I'd assume you would have it up on shelves, either for display or practicality.

Crates/boxes are fine for storage as well (I guess?), not really an expert on vinyls. Just make sure to store it somewhere safe where the record or package won't get turned to mush.

Depending on how many records you have, I would recommend having a small shelf to store them. An 8 cube bookcase may be a good start until you need more room.

Funny enough, I have my vinyls and CDs in a milk crate (lol said carton at first) on the floor in the upstairs loft : P
