This fanfiction is based on a few sets of photos I made years ago that crossover Touhou and Star Wars.
Apologies if it isn't your preference.

The party was in full swing. City lights lit up the buildings against the night sky as Sanae gave her friends and acquaintances a taste of living in the outside world. This would be the first and only time the band of incident solvers would see what it was like on the other side of the barrier.
Koishi had become quiet as a mouse ever since Satori had to step out for a moment.

The younger satori was amused by the party at first, but felt out of place overtime.
She opted to be alone for a moment and watch the city lights outside.
Koishi accidentally kicked something in the hallway, sending it skidding to the end of the corridor.
She chased after it, terrified that she might've broken something on accident.
In the darkness of the hallway she found what appeared to be the hilt of a sword.

It was ancient, metallic and heavy. There was no sign of a blade.
As Koishi knelt down to pick it up, she felt pain, anger and a deep sorrow that matched her own.
It was if the warrior that wielded the weapon channeled his grief through it.
There was a flash of light that flooded the satori with unusual sensations, sending her subconsciousness spiraling into a dreamlike state.

Koishi awoke on an island floating in an unusual place devoid of life.
She knew it was a dream, but she was unsure of how she got here.
Before she could even begin to think straight, shadowy shapes manifested around her.
They took the forms of her fears, her pain, her failings.

Koishi ignited the blade of the sword without thinking and swung wildly.
The green blade tore through the apparitions like warm butter, providing a sense of comfort that she could hang onto.
But the more she fought, the worse the apparitions became, whispering their vile lies in her ear.
When Koishi's strength finally failed her she fell to her knees, sword tumbling from her hands as it deactivated.

She fully expected to die there in that terrible place. But the final blow never came.
Instead there was a tall warrior in dark armor that towered above most mortals.
He knelt down and offered his hand to Koishi in a gesture of good faith.
She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. At first she wasn't sure of what to think, but sensed that he was good man despite his imposing appearance.

Koishi took the warrior's hand and stood up before there was another flash of light.
She found herself standing with the warrior on what appeared to be the Sanzu River, but it was sunset with no sign of any departed spirits.
The warrior beckoned her to follow him to which she did immediately.

The river recreated scenes from both of their pasts in a way that Koishi could understand as the warrior fought at her side, teaching her the first steps in overcoming her pain.
The more the pair fought the horrors before them, the lighter Koishi's shoulders became.
It was like she didn't have to bear the burden on her own.

Koishi soon saw the vestiges of Gensokyo at the end of the river.
She was reluctant to part ways with the dark warrior, but he assured her that where he was going there would only be peace from the evil of the galaxy. Koishi understood, turning to look at him as many times as she was able before entering the Tori gate.

Koishi awoke with a start. She was still in the hallway of the apartment, her hand still clasped over the hilt.
It had all been dream, but it felt real, empowering.
She could hear Satori calling out for her; she had stepped back into the party while Koishi was dreaming.
The satori knew that she might never open her heart again, but she could take the warrior's advice and take the first step.
Reaching out to her sister. And that was exactly what she did.
