Little is known about the enigmatic Shugetsu. He was born with a strong connection to the spirit realm, heightening his spiritual senses to the point where can detect the throes of spiritual manifestations while they lay dormant.
While the rest of the Foxborn Taoists used swords, spears and similar weapons, Shugetsu preferred an old scythe purified with Taoist magic.
It was said that the scythe belonged to a shinigami that participated in the battle that claimed the lives of the Black Lotus family before it's owner was slain by the Taoist.
He kept it close ever since as a symbol of rebirth from death. The word "heretic" is engraved onto the blade.
Shugetsu keeps to himself, dividing his time between hunting ethereal threats and his duties to the Shrine of A Thousand Swords.
In is downtime he practices traditional dancing and writes poetry.

Shugetsu is a four-tailed kitsune with short red hair. He wears a kitsune mask and traditional Taoist robes with a lotus embroidered on the back.
Abilities:
Ethereal Sentinel: Shugetsu can summon four ghosts that defend him from enemy danmaku for a short period of time. Sometimes these sentinels can fire their own danmaku.
Danmaku:
Shugetsu's danmaku is cast while he dances during battle, its pattern determined by the style he employs.
His spell cards are cast by performing certain maneuvers with his scythe. The more complex the dance, the more powerful the spell card becomes.
