In life, Aki Azihara was the head of the Black Lotus family, a clan of kitsune renowned for their swordsmanship and musical talent.
There were only two things in Gensokyo that mattered to him: guiding his kin on the path of the warrior and his duty towards protecting humanity against youkai.
Life was peaceful until a group of Taoist refugees fleeing Buddhist persecution sought shelter in Black Lotus territory.
Aki agreed to allow the refugees to stay until he could find a proper shelter for them.

During the night the band of Buddhist monks that were pursuing the refugees demanded that they be turned over to them.
Aki refused, arguing that his guests were under his protection and any against them would be an act against the Black Lotus.
The monks debated for an entire day on how to proceed. Wiser heads counseled that starting a war with an innocent party would compromise their faith and could result in severe consequences. The warlike monks rejuvenated with fervor argued that anyone that sheltered Taoists was their ally and should be put to the sword.
The cry for war drowned out the voice of peace, thus the decision was made.

At dawn the battle ensued. The Black Lotus and the Buddhists fought relentlessly, blades clashing and magic blazing across the forest.
Aki coordinated the defense, aiding his kin to the best of his ability while protecting the Taoists hiding in the family shrine.
The monks tore through the defenses like a tiger intent on claiming its prize.
No one would was spared in the rampage that decimated the family estate. The Black Lotus fell like aging trees cut down by lumberjacks.
Aki was the last to fall, the deaths of his kin weighing heavily on his heart.
He would soon return as a vengeful spirit, haunting the forest where his kin were slain and protecting the shrine against any who would defile it.

Recently, folks would start disappearing on the Youkai Trail between the Human Village and the Forest of Magic.
Perhaps this is an indication of an incident?

Appearance:
Aki is a male kitsune with nine tails and dirty blonde hair. He wears a traditional kitsune mask and a black kimono emblazoned with a lotus flower pattern.

Abilities:
Aki has the power to channel the magic of others as is or convert it into weapon magic that is conjured via intricate slashes.
He's at his strongest when he channels the magic of his kin from the pieces of their hearts that are embedded in his katana.

That said, amazing story and character! I just wish that we had a drawing of sorts to imagine more precisely how Aki looked like... but I guess that I could attempt to do a draw based in its description if you want!

Oh and I just LOVE the character ability. Being able to make weapons with magic is so cool! That said, I love that Aki needs to do slashes for it to happen. Cool limitation but not that limiting (since, you know, he can easily Slash in the air lol).

Though, how exactly does this works? Is like Aki use the little remnants/rests of his kin vulgar spirits? (Spirits made from human emotion).

Cool character!!!!

The Black Lotus enchanted their weapons by embedding a shard of their hearts in the weapons themselves as they're being forged. This allows them to double as a magic focus as well as a practical weapon.
It also allows them to better draw upon each other's strength and control their emotions.
When Aki died, he embedded most of these shards into his sword not just to channel the power of the deceased, but to ensure that others couldn't abuse them.
And since the shards are also their anchor to the physical plane, the anguish of their last moments risk manifesting into something dangerous, which is why Aki bears the burden of ensuring their eternal rest.

This danger was almost made a reality when the moon rabbits foolishly stole one of these weapons to experiment on for their own ends. The defilement caused the shard within to lash out, resulting in the manifestation of a vengeful spirit. It took the combined efforts of Aki and Reimu to pacify the spirit long enough for Aki to embed the shard onto his sword.

I can barely recognize the drawing but, by the little that I am able to see, it seems to be pretty cute! (I mean, those are foxes to you lol)

The lighting in my house makes it really hard to photograph art. Hopefully zooming in helps see the details better.
That aside, thanks! Hopefully the next time I draw a character the photo quality will be better.
