Switched to Linux, need help with thcrap or whatever's currently in use

i enabled update after game exit for th8, no changes whatsoever

ok so turns out the game DOES open and it immediately closes itself before it can register

ok so i switched to bottles. everything i have works just fine. except touhou 8 and 9.
image 1 is stuck on that page forever. if i try to disable updates and launch it doesnt launch at all.
image 2 says "path not found" despite me putting the entire touhou 9 folder inside the bottle directory.

I just vaguely recall, but for Touhou with thcrap, I think I recall having a bit of trouble with thcrap updating sometimes. A restart of Bottles or your PC might fix it, otherwise does it work if you run vpatch.exe? But I kind of doubt whether I had the kind of logs you do. But speaking of logs, logs should be saved in the /thcrap/logs directory.
In the case of Touhou 9, I don't believe it comes with thcrap by default? But I was able to set it up myself the last time I tried. What I remember doing was grabbing the thcrap.zip from the thpatch site (which redirects to Github), and putting the thcrap directory from the zip into the main game folder (where th09.exe is), then running thcrap.exe and making myself an English patch. In the thcrap folder, I may have also went to /config/games.js, and edited the first thing (the second line to be pedantic) to say vpatch.exe instead of th09.exe, if that wasn't done automatically.

yeah a restart of my laptop did fix touhou 8

when i used lutris(which infamously is Not Working) touhou 9 did work and it had an english patch applied to it. i downloaded off of this site

Just to confirm, the .exes (and other game files) you're trying to run have been moved or copied somewhere into the bottle's c_drive folder, right? And you're selecting that version to run with Bottles? In my case, thcrap might have just simply found th9 when I got to that point, but you could try using the "Find game in a specific folder" option. It was able to find another Touhou game for me.

yeah, that's what i'm doing. i've moved all my game folders into a folder within the bottles' c_drive directory

well i still have lutris and touhou 9 is the only game that doesnt work so. i guess ill keep that specifically for touhou 9 LOL
