i dont get it what makes her so special

She's the only character in the series who's genuinely a villain. For example; taking over the shrine's power for her own use or taking the piss out of someone for fun. Nowadays, the antagonists are either misunderstood or just stupid for the sake of it, Mima knows what she does and doesn't care as long as it benefits her.
That and her attitude, combined by her connection to the protagonist and her shrine makes it a interesting character. Plus, she's Marisa's master.
