whats your favorite genre of anime?

Shonen and slice of life were what I grew up with, but I prefer original fantasy and sci-fi settings nowadays.
Although, does Inuyasha count as an isekai?

the one with alot of fighting, and alot of agenda.
agenda might be seen as a waste of time, but i genuinely enjoy agenda it is really funny and creates discussion about some lesser details of a character one might miss.

Been a good 3-4 years since I actually watched any anime, kinda fell out of interest with it since my family mocked me for doing so. From what I remember:

- Monster Musume was a massive guilty pleasure of mine during high school, so that's one for slice of life.
- The Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt English dub is a show I still quote to this day, checking the box for comedy as well.
- Parts I-V of JJBA, obviously falling under shonen. I had also begun to watch the old Trigun and Hellsing from the 90s, which I suppose falls under that too.
- Whatever constitutes the Kirby, Right Back At Ya! anime (which has to be the shitty 4KIDS dub, ain't the same without King Dedede's English VA). It's been a literal eternity since I watched that, probably did so around 9-10 years ago.

So, a mix of a lot of things, I guess. I keep telling myself I'm going to finish out the shows I never got around to completing (Trigun, Hellsing, Lucky Star, etc.) or start the Umamusume anime, but I've gotta dedicate time for it within my schedule.

wait, would this make higurashi an isekai then?
Considering the fact that the player experiences alternate realities that more or less function as separate realms of the same place with different outcomes rather than another world altogether, I would say it counts.

If that's the case, then any plot that involves alternate realities via timeloop or the death of the protagonist is an isekai.
Re: Zero alone would be an isekai in an isekai.

I mostly watch slice of life, romcoms, iyashikei and CGDCT, though occasionally I try some other stuff. Right now I'm watching Violet Evergarden and I love it

I really enjoy slice of life animes, moreso then others, I also enjoy seinen though somewhat.

I don't really watch anime anymore as I find the medium very saturated with low quality spinoffs of already existing media.

Last anime i really liked was one punch man, as it is parodistical in nature. Same goes for konosuba, but it has it's low points with clichés.

Usually if I find an anime I would want to watch, I just go to the manga/VN/LN instead as it's usually much better since it doesn't skip important details like the animes do.

Slice of life and comedy, also I've never watched shounen or isekai but I REALLY don't want to touch it

Slice of life, psychological horror, horror to some extent… Stuff like corpse party and higurashi. And then i guess whatever category JJK, CSM, and JJBA are.
My favorite is definitely Slice of life though!!!
Honorable mention to Elfen Lied, it’s not talked about enough imo…
