What is your opinion on Rhythm Games?

Used to play osu back in the day but these days I'd much rather just play something like maimai, ongeki, or chunithm. Sure you have to be an arcade but the overall experience is just better since you work up a sweat, get to enjoy the atmosphere, avoid constant resets, etc. If I have to drop some coins to get that experience then I'm happy to do so even when other cabinets are a better value.

I used to play osu on the school computer, every break i'd check if the computer room was left open and i played either osu or cs. I wasn't particularly good at it but it was fun and made my school years more tolerable. Other than that i play project diva and deemo, again i'm not very good at them but i enjoy playing those games just for the music (especially pj diva) and clicking buttons to the beat is satisfying,

Love Project DIVA and Taiko but hate Osu! and Project Sekai with a burning passion

oh damn, MS just never notified me of you guys replying to this. (doesn't help I barely open this site nowadays anyway)
glad people are still out there enjoying what I still think is the most fun game genre to play. it's a bit more accessible now too since touhou danmaku kagura exists and you can dl it here without issues to try it out too

Update to my previous reply: I got back into osu! and even got a cheap tablet! I had forgotten how fun of a game it is
glad to hear that! I do still play although way less actively than I did before. I'm open to play with anyone though, I don't really mind, so if you feel like it just hmu on discord and we can multi sometime

I'm still rocking of course cause I'm just awesome yeah?

I like the genre, and it always amazes me how far people can go with their simple inputs. Never exactly going above a 3.8* on Osu!, but it's nice to delude myself into thinking I'm doing better than before (Regular and mania 4k/7k)

I really like Quaver, have been trying out some rhythm games on mobile too (Cytus 2 is pretty good!)
guy who likes arcaea will tell you that you should try arcaea

had a day today
scoreposting is cringe ik but sometimes I feel good about things

I haven't played a whole lot of rhythm games in my life so far.. Though I did play the original Taiko Web site on my phone a few times before it got shut down. Rip :RemiSob:
One rhythm game that piqued my interest for a while and still does is StepMania! I plan on playing it very soon.
OSU! also seems interesting, but I never gave a thought on playing it. Wouldn't hurt to look back into it and try it. I also tried FNF once, but that was it... : P

It would be nice to experience new things after all <3

they're really fun once you start seeing the improvement. I'm semi-decent at stuff like o!mania/quaver (4K specifically, I'm braindead about what to do in 7K lol) but I've been trying to improve at osu!standard too, mainly to put my drawing tablet to use since I don't really draw anything

keep pushing that envelope bestie, proud of ya

in other news, signed up for another osu tournament

I play rhythm games since i was 9, mostly Cytus, but in april 2025 i started to play Osu mania 4k, and jumped to Etterna a time latter. Was one of my favorite genres but i dont play anymore because i probably have carpal tunel so i cant do to much. It was a mix of things to get carpal tunel, some of them are choking various times playing Cyber Induction normal speed in osumania and 0.8x in Etterna, not working the forearm when i started on the gym. And i discovered Touhou because of rhythm games, with the maps of undead corporation. I am a metalhead but because of rhythm games being mostly eletronic musics i created the will of making techno in the future and get more deep in eletronic in general.
