What does your profile picture mean to you?

is this the thing that replaces (Onshi)?
As title.

Due to the long history of this site (much of which was before I made my account), I guess a post like this has been made before, but I can't find it. What made you choose your current profile picture? Is it something that interests you, a favorite character, from a game, from some music, etc.?

As for mine, it's just the default color + first letter default pfp. No special meaning. Still, it's been with me for long enough so if I change it (which I might do if I can remember how to edit my profile), I might keep something from it.

Edit: I think I figured out how to change my profile picture.

I generally find characters from media I like and find a good frame to make into a pfp. It usually fluctuates based on what I'm playing/watching at the time and is impulsive. In late 2023, I had been playing through Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! for the first time. In one of the side stories, there is a frame where Natsuki rests her head on a piano, which I found particularly good pfp material. At the time, though, I had no intentions of swapping off of my current pfp, so I took note of it and went along playing the game. A couple months after, I had made an alt for discord and I needed a new pfp for the account, so I decided to pull out the screenshot I had saved and Natsuki has been the subject of most of my pfps.
 
every now and then i will switch up my pfp with a different character (90% of the time its gonna be a touhou character) and that can depend on a couple of things. usually if at the time i think a character is cool then i will try and find a way to turn it into a pfp, or if i find a good aocf sprite i can use that for a picture. (trust me, they make very good pfps.)

what made me use the one i have currently, which is nareko? well, touhou 20 recently released, and i began to really like nareko, so why not switch it out for now? it was originally just meant for moriya, but it happened to look really good on youtube so both of them are this right now. with all that controversy on the AI and copyright stuff, i dont really know how i feel about having it, but i dont really wanna change it right now cause i like it and dont have the energy to think of a new pfp.

i actually have an album that has a little evolution of my youtube profile picture, it would be fun to show but i dont know if anyone would actually care to see it.

you can change your profile picture by clicking on your name at the top bar and then clicking your pfp.

as for my pfp, theres not much meaning behind it. I change it pretty often across the websites i use but most of the time itll end up being a character i like.
 
I think it's funny. I originally planned to change my profile picture to this for the holiday season, but then I forgot to change it back to the previous one so I've been using this ever since
