Don't know if it's a false positive or not but the virustotal scan for download is invalid as the file contains a trojan. I'll download TH8 on a virtual machine anyway, but for others this is a risk unfortunately overlooked ☹️
 
I may be able to help. I've a very "old" version of IN that I downloaded a long time ago from the Moriya Shrine here. I did scan with VirusTotal and it has 3 score points accusing of Trojan. I can't 100% guarantee it's a false-positive, but it's like 99.9% of chance that actually is. I've been playing this very same version of IN here and there at least for 5 years (even more at that point, but don't remember exactly), so if something was wrong on my computer and all, I would've noticed it. Let me know if it's worth giving it a try and I'll gladly upload it here (never done such a thing, so I'll need help with it if comes to that).

Edit - I've searched more accurately since when I'm playing IN, and by checking the replay files, I found out my oldest replays dated as follows (red lines).
Also, note that I'm still playing it nowadays (blue lines).

Sure you can upload it! I think a score of 3 is better than 5, and I'd like to try it out. I had IN on my laptop for like... 6 months or so? Nothing happened but my computer is prone to malware so ahaha just in case

You might wanna contact the staff members or something, I'm fairly new to Moriya shrine and dont know how stuff operates, so good luck OP!

Because I've contacted (or tried, at least) just Nitorium by direct message. I didn't see a good reason to "bother" all the staff members with it, and from my perception, Nitorium was one of the most active admins, so...

Anyway, now I've invited you to the very same message. Maybe it's pointless now, I mean, it's very likely you have already seen what I had to share for the Shrine. I'm still up for it and if you approve, I'll upload the zip when I have the time to do so. Thank ya!
 
honestly im not really sure about replacing the files since it's been working since forever, and if a file is already deemed safe then it is safe, even if you swap out the 5 detections w/ the 3 detections. most of the time all this virustotal talks feel like snake oil if it's already working (kind of if it's already working then don't break it), but if situation really calls then maybe i'll try and look for people who have the game on steam and manually reupload all the files. unfortunately we are a bit shortstaffed right now to check (i have lotta real life work to take care these days and there are only realistically 3 staffs on the website right now), but i'll keep this in mind.
also im poor so even i download from this site. lol

Well, if you want to help out, you can.

For the official stuff, only certain peoples can update the resource (file). So you will need to give it to one of use to update it.

I see and maybe it isn't necessary to replace the files at all. I just wanted to try and help, since some users were complaining about trojan virus. Also, I can be wrong, but from what I know, Imperishable Night is not available for purchase on Steam (at least for now).

So, if I got it right, I need to share my files with a staff member or something? And after that, the staff member will update the files to Moriya Shrine? Where do I submit the files so you guys can get it later?
 
Hi! I have been wanting to play this game for quite some time, but am a bit scared by the results of a VirusTotal check I did. Can anyone confirm the safety of this file? It seems like a few other files on this site have a similar issue, but I am mostly looking at this game for now. Thanks!

ive played this file multiple times and everything was normal
