The purpose for this thread is for folks to share their non Touhou collections and their crafts with other members of the forum.
It can range from figure collections, kitbashed models, fumos, and so on.
If anyone wants to share, don't be shy!

To get the ball rolling, I'd like to share these photos of a pair of Star Wars action figures I kitbashed recently.

I do a lot of sticker-making with an older Cricut machine I have, mostly just finding art I like and dolling it up with a sticker-style border. Sometimes I add some text or other flavoring if I feel like it. I've yet to actually make these stickers as my printer is crapping out, but I still enjoy designing them regardless.

woah, i didn't think so many people would be interested in how i make them. its actually pretty simple! about the cost, a pin machine was about 80 USD for me, so it's a little expensive at first, but for making pins with anything you want on it, i would say its worth it if you are gonna use it a lot.

so i decided to make a medium nitori pin and a large koishi pin. im gonna start with the nitori one.
i printed out the pictures im going to use for the pins:



after i got the supplies needed, i use a circle cutter thingy to cut out nitori. it did tear a little when trying to pop it out, but thats okay. it will wrap around the pin anyway.



on the pin machine, i place a plain tin badge into the badge hole, then my picture, and then this film thing that keeps the pin smooth and shiny




(sometimes i cut a slight bit off so it fits better into the hole)


i took a photo from an angle so you could see the shiny

i push down the layers on the A side




then i put a back on the b side and press it down





and then, pin : D



i repeat the same steps with koishi. i added a different film this time because i thought it would fit well.

well, thats how i do it :)

Thanks, the album cover ones are my favorite too. Collecting CDs and physical forms of music is my other hobby, nice when I can combine it with Touhou.

That's actually my sealed copy of Perfect Cherry Blossom I picked up during my trip to Tokyo last year, alongside some other goodies. There's a store in Akihabara called AkibaHobby, and it's nothing but Touhou merchandise in there (pictures below). Keychains, banners, shirts, plushies, mangas, figurines, doujin CDs, official games, a Help Me Eirin!! gachapon machine, and some other things I'm likely missing. I'm already planning to go back there in a couple of months, will likely buy the first five ZUN Music Collection CDs and maybe some IOSYS albums to boot. Helps that they're cheap since the dollar is strong against the yen, I think PCB only cost me $9 when I bought it.

My first piece of Touhou merchandise also has a funny story behind it. Around a year ago I was attending a pharmacy conference up in Canada when a few other students and I went pub crawling into the night. We walked past a shop selling anime/kawaii craft items (miniature figures, plushies, magnets, etc.) and all the girls in our group (i.e. everyone except me, pharmacy is a very female-heavy career) wanted to go in to buy something. I tag along with them to not be a killjoy, and, to my surprise, find a picture of Momiji decorating the wall along with a sealed Remilia keychain for sale. Turns out the owner's son, who was working the register that night, was into Touhou as well. We had a quick chat as I was checking out; Apparently, he'd bought the keychain during his time in Japan and wanted to sell it since it was just sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

Kinda crazy to think that was only a couple of months after I'd gotten into Touhou Project. The keychain is still sealed and tucked away in my memento box, fun little reminder that the series can pop in the places you least expect it to.

Aw man... why do all the cool things have to be overseas? AkibaHobby sounds like an interesting place to check out. I'd be digging around for hours to see what I could find.

It's kind of funny that the picture and keychain was found by chance while looking around for pubs. Life is full of surprises sometimes.

Just wanted to show some photos of the first actual figure I made that wasn't from a model kit.
The figure itself is an S. H. Figuarts mannequin designed to be an anatomy reference for artists.

The hair, tail and sandals were sculpted from epoxy putty and painted.
The clothing is from a manufacturer that makes outfits for six inch and twelve inch figures
The interior of the ears and the kimono's obi (sash) was cardboard cut from a tissue box.

The face of the figure I painted on myself.
It looks ugly, but it was my first time painting faces.

I am a polymath, my hobbies range from drawing to practicing longsword.
I always liked creating things and I eventually got into civil engineering university.

My hobbies, to name a few are:
Music: listening to it and looking for underrated talents. I even have decent collection of physical media such as LPs CDs and tapes.



Reading: I like fantasy and sci-fi, but I read even the classics like Shakespeare and Dostojevskij.



Building model kits:



Tinkering with wood and electricity:
Buying old electronics and fixing them. I even built my own amplifier.



As I mentioned before I draw when I feel like it, it's nothing special but it's not that bad.


Also I do technical drawing as part of my studies and I find it very enjoyable.

I've noticed that fixing old electronics have become a small trend recently and have been curious to know it's done.
Does it involve fixing what's salvageable or do you have to replace entire parts with ones in better condition?

The vehicles are just plastic kits.
I have built a lot of them over the years (mostly aircraft and tanks) but only these are somewhat presentable.
Other than that I built few houses for my TT railway.
And from wood I have made geta and safe practice swords. I have also made tokin from paper and made pyonta from old strawhat.


With the electronics it depends, if it's headphones you often only need to replace the cable and sometimes connector.
I had to replace few capacitors in my oscilloscope, and in my NVG i had to rewire the entire transformer.
