Scam Texts vs. Remilia Scarlet

YuyuFumo

Silly Ghost Princess
Today I received a scam text on my phone and decided to have some fun with it. The following shenanigans stem from what's called the "pig butchering scam", where the scammer 'accidentally' texts the victim's number and attempts to build rapport with them. When enough trust is gained, they will have the victim invest in one of their cryptocurrencies over a lengthy period of time before disappearing with the money, similar to slaughtering a pig after fattening it up. These scams are very easy to spot and usually begin with someone asking you if you're coming to a BBQ or assuming you're a friend of theirs. My experience goes as follows:

BBQ and wrong number, reeks of scam right away. I didn't know where to initially go with the "bloody steak" idea, but the vampire mistr00s was the first thing I thought of. So, I introduced myself and said some very-obviously-fake things that should have given me away if not for scammers having pea brains.

I thought the conversation would end here due to the obvious trolling, but the scammer decides to continue on. I play into the story I'm telling and say that I, Remilia Scarlet, will simply not have the time to visit this "La" place that they are talking about (funny considering they have a DC area code). However, the possibility of next year is always open.

The scammer is so dense that they still don't see through my trolling. It was at this point that I decided to say "f*ck it, nuclear option" and cooked up the idea of Flandre interrupting the conversation. After finding an appropriate photo that looked like Flan was taking a selfie, I unloaded.

And with that, no more scam messages. It'd be interesting to see if there's any way that I could play the long game with these scams, but I think this is a good starting point for a first time.

Foreign scammer vs. screwwy Vampire magical girl. What a merry way to go.

I really want an entire video (or even multiple!) of people roleplaying as Touhou characters and trolling scammers! Would really be the height of hilarity!
