No SFX in Touhou Games??

I recently switched from windows 7 to windows 10, now I do not hear any SFX/BGM (shooting noises, menu select noises, youmuus sword charge noises) in any of the official touhou games 6-17, and yes I tried re-downloading the games. In every touhou folder the bgm.dat file type just comes up as a box as shown in the picture attached. Anyone know how I can get the SFX back?

is it a problem on touhou games only or does it persist on other games?

Its actually affecting all of my touhou games and nonofficial touhou game downloads from this site, but does not affect other games I play on steam/blizzard/etc.

Does not affect emulated touhou 1-5 games either.

Turns out my Logitech G933 surround sound failed when I upgraded from win7 to win10, central channels were not playing any sound which I guess is where touhou bgm plays from, somehow fixed the surround sound problems by plugging the headset adapter into a usb3.0 slot
