That's just a thread where you can share music from your country =)

I'm from Brazil and i really love the music from my country, i'll try sharing some that you might find interesting

My favorite band of all time is Charlie Brown Jr, they make rock, reggae and also other genres like rap, sometimes also mixing all the genres, those are some music you might enjoy:

I didn't know Bossa Nova originated in Brazil; now I'm wondering about the origins of other genres.

I'm a big fan of Irish folk, but I'm not sure if that fits the criteria of this thread (i.e. can I post Irish if I'm not Irish?), so I'll keep it minimal here.

Well I'm from Argentina and there's a lot of music I'd like to share. You see, the most "national music" we have here is folklore and tango. Buuut, almost noone listens to this kind of music nowadays, so I usually recommend what I use to listen to. For example, I'd recommend bands from National Rock (such as Los Redondos or La Renga. Oh, one band I know that's good is Catupecu Machu XD), they're for me the best bands xd. Also, if I talk about folklore, I'd suggest to listen to old groups from the last century, because I don't like "modern" folklore. In tango there are many artists known in the world, but the best for me is Julio Sosa XD.

If I had to recommend specific songs, I invite you to listen "La Razón que te Demora" , "Motor Psico" or "Origen Extremo". I think you'll like more those than old songs from folklore and tango XD

listened to those named examples just now, the first one is pretty good

 
So Peruvian songs... So now at days my citisens only hear Reggetoon, Cumbia or Salsa, but i know some of peruvian folkloric songs

The most popular so far, and the base who so many foreigners use for their music every time they wanna represent Peru is "El condor pasa". a song who the main instuments are pan flutes. But it's more varied than that, it's a Cuzco native song but they are some varied typical songs, depending on where you are, the style will change. "Marinera" is the most popular from most coastal parts of Peru (Like Lima). And it's usually an "improved" version of Vals, but with some coastal style percussion here on there, considering it's the same song, depending if you are going into northwest or southwest, the style kinda changes. Now we also have Amazonic songs, as you may guess, is more forestal, savage style; the only song i can remember is "Anaconda", it was flutes and so... SO many cuicas. And savage percussion instruments as expected; kinda reminder to African music, makes sense becuase when Peru was a Spanish Colony, they sent so many african for... well you know. Now at days they contributed on some many aspect they made Peru special, of course one of those are the music.

Now a fun fact, some many british people say that Peru created a style of music who years later it will turn into Rock. Yeah, i kinda hear that in someplace, but idk where the video is(i only remember it was an iceberg), even if i had the video... it's in spanish so unless you know the lenguage or use subtitles good luck finding it. Maybe i can put that video here if i may find it. And it would also be helpful who knows.

same guy as that last post but like 5 years prior supposedly. also i was only partway through the album when i sent that one, "will of mountains" is a better one off that album
