Imagine a crossover between Shin Megami Tensei & Touhou...

An Ultimate Bastard...
Since ZUN copied the 5th stage background in Mystic Square from Shin Megami Tensei II's Pandæmonium. If a crossover ever happens, I believe the Hero from SMT I would be good friends with Reimu because of their idea of balance. What do you guys think of it?

I think ZUN has said it in one of his early online interviews/Q&As that SMT was an influence on him, SMT and maybe persona too, I'm not too sure about the timeline whether persona was a thing by then.

Well for starters, we don't see humans that much outside of some like Marisa or the characters from Dim.Dream, who even then there's some who came from another dimension (Yumemi and Chiyuri). Mystic Square reeks with SMT essence on it. That and SMT was a influence on him like Akos said, which speaking of which:

The first Persona game was released in 1996. The same year where HRtP was released, but it was finished one year earlier. And by that, Persona was out of his question. There weren't any semblance of Persona until the print works where the whole "conception" lore originated from these games.
