Claptrap.Touhou fans will always have fake interest they literally disagree on what they preach a few messages ago
Retard I was agreeing with you, you're just proving my point furtherClaptrap.
That's not ragebait or fake interest, Just my opinion.
True, I don't write thatWhether you agree or disagree, what you wrote isn't fake interest.
And who hellbaned at me?
This can be said about any merchandise. But why do people change their wallpaper on PC or smartphone in a way it would associate with the things they like? Because they like it. Someone places something related to Minecraft, and there are people who place their favorite "anime" (I don't know a better word in English to name this) girl. Some people go further and change their cursors, OS sounds and other things. Merchandise has existed for a long time. It is possible to find fanmade Touhou figures from 00s and at around the same time commercial ones appeared too. People bought both of these because they wanted things that associated with series they liked to be around their place. The same happened with Fumos later (and with other Touhou plushes). For many people plushes are more convenient than figures: with plushes you can go anywhere and do nearly anything you want but you don't have to be afraid that they will break. That is why plushes are more popular.I can't wrap my head around this Touhou fandom lately. Can someone explain to me why you're all so very obsessed with these expensive, soulless, and ugly Fumos? Are the people who buy them even sane? I believe these meaningles,monstrous-looking freaking plushies are just turd factory-made,
expensive trash plush selling for over $100 for no reason other than If you like Fumos
Also bootleg sucks
Oh, I see. With such attitude it would be impossible to get fanmade plushes of any character in different costume (or Cirno snail).bootlegs feel like counterfeit Chinese brands, especially some of them with terrible anatomy
The funniest thing is that Walfas are around as old as Fumos and Gyate is little more younger thing (the comic appeared in 2011, but it became a meme only in 2013)Walfas and Gyates were more funniest
Again that is what can be said about any merchandisethen just letting them sit on a shelf with that creeping empty looks It's not cute it's an overpriced trashsity.fumos ruining the fandom with this low-quality, consumerist trash.
That is depends on region (and that is why Google Trends is not representative because people from Japan and China use other search engines (Yahoo and Baidu)). In Japan it is complicated: many Touhou fans are young, but there are some old Touhou fans stay so the average age is 23-24. And the demographics is becoming younger, so not many people stay for a long time. In China the popularity seems to be decreasing, but at the same time a lot of fan creators stay, so there are a lot of fanworks. In the West more people heard Touhou now, but less people are really into it.To answer this question, we first need to analyze İs Touhou's popularity is decreasing, or increasing?
To be honest it was more complicated. You could find a forum (for example MotK) via Google, but after that "surfing the Net" began: forum had banners of other fan pages, they had links to other fanpages, etc. And you saved the links you liked and you didn't have to use Google to find them again.you had to search on Google to access thats forums.
No, things changed in 00s. A little reminder: Nico Nico Douga greatly helped Touhou at the start and during Touhou's Golden Age (2008/2009-2013). And later (since mid 10s) it became the reason why a lot of more younger people found out about Touhou (smartphones became more spread around that time)things changed in 2020 and beyond. Smartphones became more accesible and people shifted from forums or imageboards to social media .
Some people payed big attention to Fumos and Big Fumos (which were placed some stores) since 2009.Yes, fumos have always existed, but they were never involved in such bizarre things. Some people portray even a simple plush toy as something incredibly important
There were such people in the past as well.My friends who know Touho, or Explained iy, only know fumo, some IOSYS musics, Bad Apple, and the "Baka Cirno" meme.
As I said, it is more complicated.it's on the rise
and your opinion is stupid and retarded, have you never received a gift or buy for yourself something important, even if its just for a meme or just to have it its from the series you like and thats what is importantJust my opinion.
the same shit as over, money since its just a number, its at representing the value of ll the manufacturing process plus margins of beneifts, but its ot good at representing the relative value the market gives it to a name... as if you manage to found a fumo at 30$ and this is the regular price generics souvenirs like this have, now you want to sell it to me, are you gonna be that retard and sell it at generic prices?? i dont think you have that level of illness, you will at least increase 10$ because even if you dont like them, you know they belong to a series, then i say, thats very good, and i want to resell it at 50$ and so on, till someone at the tail want to buy it at 100$ , best deal 99$ just for say... than that is the price of the name touhou on a souvenir like a fumo, the relative value is given by the market not by quality process or shis like that but what people thinks the name touhou values... now go back to your dumb money and eat your bananas, leave the people enjoy their fumos, even a girl with a cirno fumo at 8 years old might has more gris materiaexpensive trash plush selling for over $100
from 40 to 60 seems to me a right price, i would not pay more than that for one, unless there are licenses and stuff of these that rises the prices, otherwise i would notA lot of Japanese plushies I've seen at import stores hit the $40 range
Yeah, I'm pretty much alright with the current price range. I'm grateful for sites like AmiAmi that sell them for a somewhat affordable price. I think the most expensive Fumos for me were the Ran and the Jo'on I bought for a friend (I think I recall paying around $60 for each one).from 40 to 60 seems to me a right price, i would not pay more than that for one, unless there are licenses and stuff of these that rises the prices, otherwise i would not
Fumos really didn't get as expensive as they are now until after the pandemic. Even in 2018-2019 they were going for ~$25 per plush, which is super reasonable compared to most other licensed plushies. Unfortunately, it was also during that time that Fumo culture really took off due to Fumo Youtubers introducing non-fans to the little buggers; Now everyone and their mom, whether they know what a Touhou is or not, wants a fumo because it was in that funny YouTube video they saw. Gift has been ratcheting the price up by around 500 yen every year since 2020, and I don't really blame them for doing so since that's basic supply-and-demand economics.A lot of Japanese plushies I've seen at import stores hit the $20-$40 range, this was the same for Fumos. But after their skyrocketing in popularity, they're now being sold for Labubu pricing second hand since 2018 or so. It wasn't until stores like AmiAmi that started selling them for prices below $90 that the situation was somewhat mediated, and it took them a good few years to do something about it.
I remember looking up early listings for Fumos from the 2009-2014 range and their prices were far more in line with your average licensed plush toy ($19 - $29) than what it is now. How time and demand change things...
