Day 42: Miyoi Okunoda

Miyoi is such a sad character when it comes to how her own damn book was treated. Essentially, Mamizou stole the show in Miyoi’s book, causing her development to be hindered. Aya has also kinda contributed, but it’s not as egregious as Mamizou absolutely spot hogging it. Miyoi herself is neat, and she fills a cool role in the series. I really like how she interacts with many characters and generally is nice to watch. Her design is nice as well. Overall, a character shafted by a tanuki.

[Eulogous]

The Touhou print works can be frustrating, especially when it feels like ZUN just gets bored of the character he initially centers the story around, and writes in other characters to eclipse them. She's also tied to Suika, which I don't dislike, but I'd rather see characters stand on their own without being stapled to someone else...
