I haven't played 2hu in a long while honestly ;-; I should prolly install some new 2hu games and run those and try beating 2hu 7

Word of warning. Touhou 7 is VERY hard past stage 4, even on easy. Well, I'm sure you know that already, but you still have to be prepared for it. Touhou 8 is probably the easiest all things considered of all the Touhou games, so I would suggest playing that one or playing Touhou 9 or 19 as refreshers for yourself on the games.

Very hard is over-exaggerating it. Every touhou game has a difficulty spike which is normal. Which is why practicing is important in shmups/bullet hells such as touhou. Don't wanna start difficulty-fagging too much. But in my opinion players shouldn't care about a games difficulty. As long as they find it interesting that's enough motivation to clear it whether with multiple credits or 1 credit.

i barely played anything touhou related in a while too, eschatos and psyvariar with deathsmiles have been taking my attention for quite a while.

I mean by the speed the bullets go and the sheer amount of them, and I am NOT over-exaggerating the difficulty for someone (such as myself) who hasn't figured out their patterns yet. Besides, many Touhou games don't have THAT much bullets on easy during a stage 4. While I know for sure it wouldn't be the absolute hardest, it is still incredibly brutal if you don't get the timing right. You're probably just saying some of that from one who is at least reasonably better at the games than the average person might be (I have no idea about your skill level, so I'm just assuming). Well, that difficulty is more why I play the Touhou games in the first place. I normally highly dislike difficult games, but Touhou is probably the only exceptions (and "bullet hell" as a whole to me). I consider it as a personal "spiritual" challenge to myself. Though I certainly can suck pretty bad at them, though mainly because of my ADHD preventing me from always being able to focus on it right.

yeah that's fair I guess. I was assuming that you put time into the game and practice it even if a little bit. So in terms of someone who wants to learn the game to clear it with 1 credit. It's not that hard. But if you just play it casually then you will find the bullets too fast and too dense. Also can you please direct me to which section has so many bullets? tons of bullets doesn't always equal hard. They may be simply aimed but you move around too much that it turns into a horrific pattern. I don't wanna be too elitist. But you gotta figure out the patterns before you declare them "very hard".

I get it, I'm starting to play PCB again and I'm rusty for sure, still did a 1cc on normal even though I was on my last life. You already practiced before and have previous skills, so it won't be as difficult to bring them back.

I'll always recommend someone to play PCB at any point in their Touhou journey. The best game to start out with, to practice on, best music, etc. All my opinion, obviously. I think its difficulty is basically perfectly balanced, including the extra stages. If you haven't beaten any Touhou games yet, PCB is the best one to start with, best overall experience. It also has Ran in it, and I don't need to say anything else about how lovely she is.

It is primarily those sections if which the fairies shoot out a bunch of bullets. I'd have to go back and use the practice start to see and remember which parts I have more trouble with. I of course already know of the "streaming" strategy, but it can be hard in practice for me. For me in terms of my skill level in the games, I'm probably not the absolute worst, but it can be a rare thing for me to be in a "focused" state of mind for myself to get through everything. Though I know for sure there was at least one time I got through the stage almost without dying, but to replicate that can be pretty hard. Still, it'll probably happen eventually, just maybe a bit longer than the average person. And as you said, I'm primarily playing the Touhou games casually, though I do seek to at least get a Normal 1cc on all of the Touhou games at some point.

I think aside from some of the bullets messing me up more, I would say I agree with you (though besides with the early stages, I'm still not entirely sure whether it'd be best to "start out with"). PCB is among my favorite Touhou games (alongside HSiFS), because of basically everything about the game. It has amazing music, breathtaking backgrounds, and the "melancholiness" of the game feels very nostalgic to me despite only knowing about Touhou for almost 2 years now. And of course, I adore the characters in it, and I consider the character art by ZUN himself to also be a big reason for why I love the game so much.
