can someone tell me how can i express my character idea, without drawing

right now its a slow start using krita to draw, im still bad alright, and of course i got nothing to do soo im here to ask how could i express my character without art
 
Character as in personality? Um... maybe stories, or music? Then again, those can also be considered art forms. Or maybe host an ama? I see a lot of those on Reddit but honestly I'm not sure how those turn out.

Anyways, if the art you're talking about is drawing, then I encourage you to keep doing it (b^-^)b. Even if you think your stuff are bad, it's still a good way of expression and you'd probably keep on improving the more and more you do it. I mean look at me, not in the improving state yet mind you, but you get what I mean.

Eh, but that's just my take, I don't really understand much about these stuff.

yeah ill keep trying to learn drawing, for now ill just write a short story of my touhou character
 
An OC? Interesting. If you're gonna post it here, I'm sure a lot of people would find it intriguing too.
No pressure though.

I sincerely insist on using drawings to portray your character, because visualizing it is the best way to show it.
Music can be great to express the personality of said character, but visuals are the most effective way. I'd say that music can be a great complement instead (just like how Kanako's theme reinforces her personality).

If you feel like your drawings aren't good at the moment, yet you feel like you MUST show your character, a detailed description would do the trick. Having appearances in stories would also be a good idea to portray it's personality (since it's both more accessible than making music and also more direct).

So, again, I'd sincerely suggest training your drawing skills until you're satisfied with the results. No need to rush things, just take your time to learn a new skill. I am probably the worst person you can ask on this website to make a drawing of anything that isn't a stick-man, so I can't help you with that besides cheering for you.

thank for the words, also i was waiting for retron to comment back on the hint of the OC im going to tell, but i guest ill just give it to you the OC is rerated to youkai
 
What I usually do when making up an oc is to create a character sheet. You can make it either really simple or make them go really into detail about all the things about the character, I usually do go into detail so it will be less room for people to get things wrong about the character. For example:
Name: John/Jane doe
Sex: unknown
Height: 165cm
Age: unknown,

You can add as many details as you want, but in the end of the sheet, I tend to do appearance and personality.

Sorry if I'm late on this thread but I thought that I will throw this out there!
 
As some people said, if you want the alternatives, the best thing you can do is make a character sheet and describe them. That at least makes the job done.
