What do you think about Ichirin's design?
It may seem random but for some reason she looks kinda muslim to me, ofc im not that stating she is one, but islam is the first thing that comes to my mind whenever i see her, mainly because she wears something that covers over 90% of her hair. Am i alone with this one?

Yeah, Muslims were the first people of all time to cover a woman's head right?
Honestly I think her design is inspired by a Christian monk. Real Buddhist monks are bald, and Zun just couldn't make her look like one.

Ichirin's alternative official design reveals lots of hair, while the purpose of a hijab is to cover it at least mostly.

But I still expected this character to be popular in Muslim countries' communities. No, they all prefer Patchouli for some reason. Have you ever seen an Ichirin fan in your life?
 
Her design isn't my favorite, but her design looks pretty good regardless. Though I don't think of her looking like a Muslim all that much.
I see her looking more like a Christian nun or monk like what Fazun sent.

It's just my mind that makes me have Ichirin remind me of muslim women rather than Christian Monks because different gender, and about Nuns, propably because i only have seen Nuns wear black and hijabs and burkas (idk what's the difference) can differ in color if i recall good.

Her design reminds me quite a lot of Sypha Belnades from Castlevania III, oddly enough.

The headdress she's sporting is called a Zukin, often worn by Buddhist nuns to cover their shaved heads. Almost the same thing as the wimples that Christian nuns wear except for a few structural differences, but headgear regardless. Makes sense given Ichirin is a monk training to become a priest under Byakuren. It also makes sense that Ichirin hasn't shaved her head because, despite being a monastic rule for Buddhist monks, Byakuren has a track record of being a very poor enforcer of said rules and other teachings.
