Well, old internet culture seemed to be genuinely funny. It was largely nonsensical on purpose. It was nothing too serious and was meant to be funny while still making somewhat of an amount of sense.
Nowadays, funny supposedly equals... Something that has no meaning?
It just looks incredibly stupid and nonsensical in a horrible way.
