will there be anymore physical releases of translated manga?

I'd argue a big part of this is the games being so inaccessible to a western audience (relative to other games). It isn't surprising that more people get into the setting without being into the games when whatever random animation or song on Youtube is just infinitely easier to stumble upon than any game. With stuff like an official Touhou 6 remake with an English translation released on PC and consoles, you might actually see a couple western folk where a game is their first real exposure to Touhou.

What I guess I'm trying to say is, if we are aiming for more game fans, you shouldn't be trying to get Touhou music and animation and comic fans into the games, but you should be aiming to get Shmup game fans into Touhou. More accessible releases can do this.

Though, I'm sure a more accessible release will attract many of those non-game fans to try it, or at least to buy it.
There are many official games that available on steam, although without official translation and thcrap isn't something that would just one find out about (but still it wouldn't be so rare that someone would just type on google [insert game] translation), there are also many fan games such as Luna Nights or Mystia's Izakaya, or even roblox touhou games such as Better Touhou.

All touhou games since th10 are on Steam. The problem (or the blessing) with Touhou is the fact that, despite almost zero fan service by Zun, the absolute majority just "likes the girls" or even one exact girl (her design in fact) and doesn't care about the rest. That doesn't count as a fan(atic) at all. You won't be called a LoTR fan just for watching the movies and liking the cast, right? There are very few touhou "fanatics".

They just don't care about this gameplay, and story, and so on, and that's understandable because they just aren't interested in touhou. Of course the upcoming th06 remake is going to attract extra people, but the overall situation will probably never change.
Not to mention the larpers, tbf i haven't ever in my life seen a fandom with just as much larping, for example the worst type of larping which is shipping, never canon and it brings just questionable or rather i say depraved ships too for example shipping siblings or blue archive-friendly to call it creatively

Blue archive friendly :RemiSob:

Okay the whole thing isn't that bad, well it is bad but isn't unique. Every fandom has a huge part which mostly consists of underage girls (or, rarely, boys) who are obsessed with the whole sexual thing and just cannot bear the fact the characters lack attraction to others because the author wanted so. It isn't something to worry about because 1: they'll probably grow out of it 2: there's nothing we can do. The web is (mostly) free, and to join or not to join a community that is full of "reimu is racist" or "miko is a transgender" jokes is our choice.

Also if you're irritated by an image of naked Komeijis kissing or something like that, it's not about shipping, it's just hentai.

Hopefully its not what i keep seeing.
But what i keep seeing which annoys me is marisa x alice ships, and the statement that "shipping is valid" which is straight up bs, i hate fanon and headcanons in general and seeing one of these all the time is just tiring and annoying.

Shipping is valid because of free will we all have. What we don't have is power over other people online no matter what dogshit opinions they have, all one can do is ignore or avoid it. I think that's why most of us are here, isn't it?

I think that some of the fanon and head canon creations can be pretty neat, but I'm with you on disliking shipping.
I typically despise romance, and one of the major things that appeals to me with Touhou is the fact that none of the characters go all googoo-gaga over romance. Now, there are a couple of them which were/are officially married, but I'm fine with it as it's just a couple of them (mainly Junko and the Watatsuki sisters). My own "head canon" for Touhou is that the vast majority of characters (especially the youkai and fairies) just aren't interested in romance. This includes some humans (and half-humans) too such as Reimu, Marisa, Youmu, and Rinnosuke.

I have zero problems with characters being married or loving each other in any media. I just hate people's projections of their sexual overdrive and inferiority feeling they can't keep to themselves

That I think is one of the reasons I started disliking romance in the first place. Not the whole reason, but it is still at least one.

I can be fine with romance in many different series (I mean, many of the anime and manga I like have romance in them), but I just generally don't like it much for one thing because I feel it often gets in the way of a lot of stories and feels too "predictable". I also have autism, so I'm not interested in romance much because of that as well.

Though with series like Touhou which mainly has a female cast, then my aversion to romance gets aggravated further in regards to it. One reason being I feel like it would "drag down" the characters.
Regardless, I'm just happy that Touhou doesn't focus on romance.

Of course it would. It'd be either Kourin's gigaharem (I Am a Loser Introvert Nerd That Is Suddenly Loved By 100+ Magical Girls!) or lesbian Gomorrah, both variants are complete trash
