do you think the touhou community should stay small?

As you can see on the chart, this data irrefutably proves that the Touhou fandom is less degenerate when it's bigger. If you think otherwise, that's only because you're nostalgic for a past that didn't really happen.
I think thats more or less because the joke was never good to begin with and it got ran into the ground as well

Why is that time called the golden age? Are the pre-Steam fan games really that much better than the modern ones?
I primarily see the works besides the fangames from time as being part of that "golden age" (though the degeneracy is a big quality lowering of that time), but to me, many of the modern Touhou fangames are superior (examples being Sapphire Panlogism and Little Doll Queen). While it could be argued that a lot of the Touhou RPGs are superior from that era, that still isn't wholly the case either. Or at least, imo.

its not THAT small, but its not really big enough to where a decent amount of people can recgonize what it is or to the point where you can consider it mainstream. do you think it should stay as a niche series with a little community or should it gain more popularity to where more people will recgonize it and more people are fans of it?
Absolutely Yes. I actually somewhat like the people here, the fandom here seems fairly pleasant due to it's small community, fairly niche subject matter and the fact that it's not some mainstream social media platform like Twitter or Instagram, which weeds out all of the assholes. The downside is that it's hard to get technical advice here. For example, I posted a thread asking about an loading error regarding a game I wanted to download but unfortunately no one responded, whereas if I were to go on Reddit and ask I would get a response fairly quickly but they would probably be a snarky asshole about it. Overall, the pros outweight the cons.

As I've stated before, this little community is probably one of the nicest I've ever been in. People here are generally more kind and not nasty about a lot of things than a lot of other communities seem to be.

Have you tried asking in a Discord server like Fanworks n Chill or the game's official server?

Also were you talking about the Touhou fandom in general or this specific forum? There are a lot of active Touhou fans on Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit.
