Touhou 20 OSTs possibly being removed from YouTube

Yes, you can.
I made a more structured timeline here (without screenshots, but screenshots you can take here): https://www.shrinemaiden.com/index.php?topic=735.msg40747#msg40747
Also, I don't know if you read my latest status update, I shared some thoughts here.
I shared the general content on Baidu Tieba, hoping it will pass the review.

I am very worried whether this incident will spread to the Chinese Touhou community. Many people have also uploaded TH20's OST on bilibili.

Hopefully not. PC98 tracks are already dead on Soundcloud, and while only two copyright strikes were noted that were not related directly to TH20, 19 or 18.5, this sets horrible precedent.

Imagine not being able to hype around the game when the *demo* is functionally made for that express purpose...
If that's how both ZUN and Ruw want it, I can play ball. In fact, I already unwishlisted the game that was about to be released on my birthday.

Sucks.

I noticed you mentioned some heated arguments with the CN fanbase over there. If it's any related to this, care to enlighten us as well?
Oh, they just mostly criticized the poor quality of TH20, such as character settings, music and danmuku design. This is almost a "conference about criticizing ZUN" that every new work of Touhou will experience.

As for this incident, there is an information gap between the Touhou communities in China and other countries. They are not aware of it. I am trying to share it.

Meh, for now I don't think such thing may happen. But if Ruw somehow made a deal with Baidu or Bilibili, then it is sad.

Classic. That is what regularly happens after each new game release.

I would say that each Japanese, Chinese and Western communities have nearly no idea what happens in other communities.
It would be really good if Chinese community would be prepared too. In ideal case, Japanese fans also should see that their fanworks are in danger too, but a lot of work is required for this.

Yeah actually one pointed it out somewhere that part of the guidelines include "Excessive sexual content that is deemed unlawful."

Quite a large amount of Touhou doujinshi revolve around the theme of r*pe; this sounds like an excuse lol.

Well, technically such things don't leave doujin works (and some places on the internet), so Ruw may do nothing about it.
If such thing appears openly then Ruw can strike it.

My post was successfully published on Baidu Tieba, and the main focus of discussion was the criticism of Ruw.(https://tieba.baidu.com/p/9722267179

In fact, the Chinese Touhou community has always had a lot of opinions about Ruw, mocking him as "the eunuch next to ZUN".

China's separate Touhou Doujin regulations allow Oriental Doujin videos on bilibili to earn revenue, and I don't know if Ruw will notice this.

Yes, I already saw that. I want to give some notes.
Part about "Content that may lead to the misunderstanding that it is official content of the Touhou Project" is related to "prediction" fanmade ost (because this ost is obviously is not from the game which will be released).
Most of the videos which are removed now are more related to "Anything that is extracted from official Touhou Project games", as these tracks are extracted from game files. (that was not a problem for more than 20 years, but now for some reasons it is a problem).

I hoped that you would rely more on this version of my post ( https://www.shrinemaiden.com/index.php?topic=735.msg40747#msg40747 ) because it shows that these strikes began from the Japanese uploader of official Touhou OST (kurayamanawa) and fanmade "prediction" track by PumpkinPielex.

Anyway the summary is good.

I see.

I hope he will not notice this.

I'm sorry, but isn't that completely different from touhou official music re-uploads? Seeing how you worded it, I'm assuming they're "Touhou fanwork videos", and not "Touhou official media reuploads".

Yes, I think you are right. However, some Touhou Doujin videos also use Touhou official music, and I am worried that this will also result in copyright warnings.

I found that the OSTs of TH19 and TH19.5 are available on major music streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Amazon(I'm sorry I found this out so late because I can't use a VPN most of the time). I wonder if it has anything to do with recent events:Sanae:

Yes, it looks like it is related

this feels so weird, even more knowing ZUN's use of AI recently. i fear the route Touhou may take in the future relating to community-based content

"YOU WILL NOT PIRATE TOUHOU"

letting people have their fun and making stuffs with the OSTs for over a decade and only now enforcing the rule that it wasnt allowed in the first place is just weird. i wonder how many other types of works are actively breaking the guidelines and when their day of reckoning will come

That is why we must get the explanation from Ruw about what is allowed and what is not (and not through those retweets, that is a weak move).
Also that is why I say that we must defend, organize and be prepared for the next actions by Ruw.

Thank you, commander, for so thoroughly and promoting my games. But now, I'm afraid, you have outlived your usefulness. You know just enough to be a threat to me and, with that, the future of the Touhou Project. I will not say dasvedanya, commander, as i can assure you, we will never meet again - ZUN
