Why is this forum so dead???

Literally no offense but this is one of the most barely active forums I've seen on the internet, there is literally some absolutely depraved shit online that's more active than this. You'd think that a more acceptable topic like Touhou would get more reach, but I guess not?

I've seen threads that stay on the "latest threads" section for two days. TWO DAYS. Only 5 things were able to be on that section at a time, so that means that less than 5 threads were being made in 2 days. Literally how??????????

Maybe a large part of it comes down to a large majority of accounts being made purely to download shit and are never touched again? That's the most I've got, but it still doesn't explain just how inactive this forum is.

I really do just want this forum revived tho, cuz right now literally barely anything happens on it.

No offense but one of these posts show up at least once a year. Part of the beauty of a forum is that it's more measured and even-paced than other forms of online interaction; their formatting does not facilitate a continual stream of activity. Theoretically we aim for "quality over quantity," which IMO is preferable. what would be the benefit of having a multitude of new threads that have no engagement past the first post or two? Better that the existing threads continue to shoulder the majority of the forum's activity, thereby facilitating a better sense of community.

Now admittedly, you are correct that the majority of activity here is less of the forum itself and more for the pirating services it provides; most fans looking for forum-type interaction are more likely to try Reddit (their loss, though). I'm not sure there's much anyone could realistically do to change this, considering the site is literally founded upon that premise. But if you believe there's something more to be done, by all means set out to do it! Be the next in the tradition of CountVonNumenor and Vanyk, endeavoring to inspire the community to greater things! You may be surprised by what you achieve; there's often more going on here in the forum than is immediately obvious.

Lol sorry if my post comes off as a bit aggressive, but it's just that I am a member in a few other forums, and all of them are decently active. Maybe 15 threads made in an hour or so? I guess this is just kind of a jarring change of pace for me :/

Quality over quantity does make sense tho, I personally haven't seen any other sites take this approach, but I guess it's working for this site?

Social media is designed for a broad audience, and its ease of use is a big advantage. I grew up with forums, imageboards, and social media too. I never really fully immersed myself in social media, but I do like it. It's a bit sad to see forums be ditched in favour of social media, though
 
I've only ever gone on this site for downloads, and never really had to make an account up until this point. But I don't really think you'll see people going back to forums no
