As the title suggests, I've been gone from this forum for a while (*checks notes*... holy cow, it's been a year already?!). I have been a member of this forum since March 2021, and for about a year, I used to be very prolific in terms of writing and leading new threads. However, life decided I...

Looks like I am back at the Shrine, but not with something I would have liked to talk to as one of the "rare instance of CvN coming back to the Moriya Shrine". However, as I do not think this will be visible anywhere else, I will just do it here: I have been using Pinterest for many years now...

It's been over 24 hours since the results were published, but only now I got the chance to write something on the topic. Honestly, this year I am very content with the results. Last year, I remember that at first I was a little disappointed by the EoSD stomp over everything, but it was rather...

Recently, I was quite curious to see what are the regulations when it comes to the creation of Touhou fan content. Not long after, I have found the rule list on the Touhou Yomoyama News website, and so I wanted to share them here as a bit of random trivia. I am not sure to what degree are those...

As some of you may have noticed, I have barely been active at the Moriya Shrine forum for the past months. For anyone wondering, I am still doing fine, I have just been a little busy with college life and trying to get through all my courses. However, there is another question that rose - am I...

Have you ever stumbled upon something you were not expecting to se be connected with the Touhou community and games? What would be one of the places where you were not expecting to find Touhou, but still found it? In my case, probably the connection I was never expecting to make was between...

A bit of a shorter opening presentation on my side today. Based on the idea of "Touhou Project, but if it came out 20 years later...", I stated thinking more and more about a series of alternate history scenarios: Touhou, but if the series never went past Mystic Square and ZUN just moved to...

I  have been working on my own design since 2020, but only recently I have started to give her more lore/development. Interestingly enough, it started with me being bored one evening and just thinking about designing a cute girl (a bit of a thought experiment at the time, as I was still making...

At the risk of possibly repeating a thread that may have been discussed in the past, I would like to steal borrow the idea of a thread recently seen on r/touhou. Plus, I do not know if I should restrict this to purely official illustrations of the characters, or include fanart as well. Why I...

Last year, I was feeling very distrustful when we saw the popularizing the stereotypical, generic pre-fabricated content. However, as 2022 went on, a number of new creators started to leave their mark in the community, especially in the west. I did mention some of them in the "Retrospective...

This is a brief return, albeit in a lite form, towards the old reviews I used to make towards different bits of Touhou media created by the Western side of the community. And what better pick for the 1st April but stereotypes associated with Touhou characters and the people who like them...

Touhou already has a long history (over 25 years of counting the PC-98 games). And in all of these years, especially as it had the advantage of catching the years in which the Internet as we know it came to be, enjoyed great popularity especially in the early 2010s. However, I was recently...

"Mai waifu" - Kimura-sensei, Azumanga Daioh (2002) This is a very old question, yet which only came to my mind recently. Why do we like "waifus" so much, and find them so interesting? For a very long time, I was not interested in such a thing and was pretty much un-phased. However, in the...

There has been quite  dramatic shift in terms of my tastes for stuff I see in art, especially in the art style of manga/anime. I think in general, it seems like my interest has shifted from more moe-like towards more feminine. More...womanly designs if you catch my meaning. Like actually looking...

On the 25th of February 2023, ZUN was invited to a high school talk show where he was asked several questions about Touhou. While there doesn't seem to be a video archive, a Twitter user called AQNAWNA made a recap of the questions and answers. And from there, the questions have been translated...

Besides the obvious "I would not have given green light to that game to begin with"... The game has been up for almost three years (counting the original server), and there seems to be no sign it will die soon. Which is a paradox, given the fate of the previous Touhou mobile games (Cannonball...

I would like to open this thread in order to bring back some pleasant memories. One cartoon I've grown with was "Hungarian Folk Tales" (Povesti din folclorul maghiar). It is originally a cartoon made a few decades ago by our Hungarian neighbors, and was brought on our (Romanian) television in...

I feel like my mood is rather mixed as I already passed into Tuesday.  Oh boy, this Valentine's Day sure will be brilliant... I am in the middle of my two weeks break from the courses, so far from anyone I know or I could meet (Romanian academic autonomy made it so my break did not coincide...

What are the spiciest takes in regards to Touhou you may have or even believe in? It can be anything about either canon, fanon, the community, ZUN, absolutely anything as long as it is connected to Touhou. Here are some of mine, and they might be quite controversial: I have a severe dislike...

Happy New year everyone! After watching and reading some content recently, I have started to become very curious about the subject of rivalries between Touhou and other series. (This does not deny the fact I am quite happy the Touhou fandom is actually friends with other communities as well...
