Do you get a gibberish error? If so, try finding a way to emulate Japanese locale with crossover or Wine. If you can't do it from crossover, maybe you could use this guide, but I'm not sure if it works though.

If your Mac can't run 32-bit programs, I think you also need to use WoW64 mode with Wine. But also try to run Touhou in windowed mode, because I heard that fixed it for another Mac user (I don't know if they edited the game's config or something in Wine lol, probably game). For changing Locale...
