That's a good point about the time loop, actually. After all, if there's only one character who could have created it, then where's the mystery? As for the true route, I don't think you'd have to worry much; I fully intend on making sure the player needs to figure out everything for themselves...
Yeah, that all makes sense. And I'm glad you've enjoyed thinking about the idea, I have no idea if this'll ever get made or not but it's a fun idea regardless. Also, in the event that this doesn't get made and someone from 10 years in the future is looking at this now-probably-dead website...
There's a lot to this idea that I like, and a lot I don't, so I'm a little conflicted on it. I'll start with what I like:
First of all, the main one: the idea that a particular event could play out differently depending on what Aya knows from previous loops is one that I really like, and it...
Ok, this gives me some ideas. So, there'd be some kind of "incident" (probably involving people disappearing) that Aya could set out to write about, and you'd have multiple characters you could talk to, each with their own "events" that would occur when you do so, and you'd have the option to...
I like Fire Emblem a lot but a solid 60% of that one just comes from the fact that it has Ranulf and I think he's hot. BlazBlue's also a really fun fighting game (Centralfiction specifically, Cross Tag is not)
Oh, go for it! With the exception of the characters' map sprites (I am horrible at pixel art and I doubt stealing from Puppet Dance Performance is an option), I'm pretty confident I could do something with this concept, so I'd love to hear any ideas you might have.
That's what I was thinking, you'd have two or three different ways you could have her write about something (all similarly ridiculous) and then the characters' reactions to her writing would determine what happens in the story
So recently, I thought about making a Touhou fangame in RPGMaker where you play as Aya, and have to go around Gensokyo looking for interesting stories to write about in your newspaper; you'd be able to choose which ones to report on, and depending on which ones you choose, the game's events...
I wasn't even considering soundtracks but that's a great point, IN has my favorite in the entire series and UFO's is pretty great too. And yeah, TD felt a little too easy imo, I played on normal and the only remotely challenging bits were the Miko fight and the extra stage. Futo's funny though...
Ichirin, but only because she feels kinda mediocre and boring compared to the rest of the UFO cast and I'm mad she got a character slot in the new fighting games instead of literally anyone else from that game
Just got far enough in UM's extra stage to fight Himemushi (can't beat her though which is big sad) and she's now one of my favorites, no idea where I'd put her on my ranking but I like her
The title says it all, really. I decided to make a tier list of my favorite Touhou games, taking into account both gameplay and story, and wanted to post it here. I don't really know what the general consensus on most games in the series is, but from what I do know, I'm pretty sure there are...
So, recently I played Glory of Deep Skies (banger fangame btw, go play it), and without spoiling anything, it's possible to get locked out of certain endings in that game. So, I wanted to see the extra endings I got locked out of, and since my save has the extra stage unlocked, I didn't want to...
1 - Aya
2 - Komachi
3 - Saki
4 - Utsuho
5 - Sumireko
6 - Mamizou
7 - Futo (this one's 90% just for how she plays in the fighting games)
8 - Yuugi
9 - Mokou
10 - Marisa
And if we're counting fangames (which I know we're not but shhh), replace Marisa with Homura from Glory of Deep Skies.
