Online Guide:
Because this game is P2P (Peer-to-Peer), online connectivity is pretty straightforward. You'll always need a VLAN service, so i recommend Zerotier or Radmin. Radmin has been tested for this game so if you want the least hassles choose that.
So, prerequisites are to download the game from this page, get your VLAN service up and running. After that:- Extract the archive somewhere in your drive, no shit right?
- Extracting it will give you the game files, there's 3 executables that you'll use:
- Profile Editor: Run this to change your player name in the game, otherwise you'd be stuck with the default patch name, and let's be real you deserve being made fun of if you go around lobbies like that...
- lobby_connect: This is what you'll actually need in order to connect, it acts as a lobby finder that hooks into the game and it's what makes all this possible.
- TOHOTOPIA: It's...the game?
- Change your player name first, then run lobby_connect and keep it in the background.
- After that, run the game.
- In the main menu, go to "Multiplayer". To verify that the patch is working as intended look at the lobby_connect window. Ensure that all players have entered the multiplayer menu, refresh the lobby_connect command line and you should see active players on the network. If no players appear after refreshing, there is an issue with your VLAN connection. Double-check that everyone is connected to the same virtual network and try again.
- Now invite your friends by making a room and either invite them via the friend tab or find their lobby.
- If everything works well, congrats! You're now inside a lobby!
