    I understand the hate for things like Fumos and LostWord, but I still can't deny them for bringing more people to the series, some of the people I've met started in those mediums and became long term fans who are genuinely fun to be around.

    However I cannot deny the repercussions of the kinds of fans in those places, especially the fumo fans. Fumos are just the Labubus of Touhou at this point anyways. What was once another niche piece of merch from a series has suddenly become another hypothetical gold nugget for money laundering, with relentless hype in the guise of shallow memes made by people who can only afford the bootlegs, with a majority of the people acting super territorial about them and pretend like they're an endangered species or something.

    Fumos, like many things are simply just more merch for a series you care about and they should be treated as such. But my goodness, a majority of the fans of them need to wake up and either invest in the actual series or reflect on their behavior.

    People really assume that new fans get into touhou because they actually care about it. They don't, they see the cute moe stuff or the Yuri porn and larp to be inside a fandom that misses the point in the first place

    Yes it is, I almost kind of miss the simplicity of it compared to Repentance

    The original isaac has that edmund charm. Especially with the flash vector style he is known for. Rebirth and onwards went with a more remixable style that was easier to make and remix. it still has traces of edmund's art style tho. But it's nice seeing that vector style returning in Mewgenics. Almost looks like a late 2000s flash game if it was made in modern day.
