Our cat died similarly from some disease, and I was away from home at the time it happened. Not to mention the poor thing was horribly mistreated, AND they've tried to gaslight me into thinking: 1) it didn't happen, 2) it was justified.

I thought of my lost dog. It's been missing for almost nine years now. I thought I'd be able to take care of it in its old age

thats really sad to hear man, animal deaths are hard to get over. the best we can really do is cherish the memories we did have with them and appreciate that they once were here. hope life has gotten better for you since.
