Im also learning to draw, starting with simple style which is chibi (cuz im overwhelmed and nearly feelburned out when trying to draw classic anime style), i almost finished drawing my first artwork made via drawing tablet and it doesn't look best (it looks embarassing i'd say) and i heard just drawing more wont help my progress in gaining skill so i have to look forward asking other artists for tips, do you have any?
@Yume i would love to help you omg, like with anything about drawing!! Literallyy!! I am not sure what would be the best way to start drawing, it truly depends on the person but I was very strict on learning anatomy and how to pose with correct anatomy, of course your style can change how things look but correct anatomy and proportions will always stay! You don't have to condition yourself to finish a piece in short time, that will burn you out. Honestly, drawing brings so much comfort to me.. Start with simple things, then move on slowly as you master them!
if u wanna ask for tutorials or anything i can totally help u!! my discord is cranberrydoll and i would love to help with anything!!!
Well i have few things to ask
What to avoid in order to make progress in skill?
What to do if i dont feel like drawing for more than one day while having a goal to be an artist?
And if i should keep going with my own style or borrowing any wont sabotage my skill growth? And if it wont, is this style too simple to start with or is it alright?
Thats such a cute stylee!! Simple is how you start and expand your style as you go!
to make progress in your skill , you shouldnt be stuck in "This expert says i shouldnt do this" "they say this is bad" you should experiment as you go, you will figure out whats wrong and whats not yourself as you draw. Though im only talking about people's opinions, art does not have rules but there are tips that may help you make it easier!
You dont have to draw every day, or you dont have to finish big things in a day, slowly as you learn and start to like your own art you will gain that want to draw more than just a little. Art takes time, and you can take breaks
You can take inspo from others, of course, you can start with a style you like the most so it is easier to learn, then you can change things up a bit one by one to make up your own style! Thats what i did!
these are really nice questions and i hope it helped even a little
Here's another question cuz im not sure about this one
Am i supposed to try drawing same character or can i change character to another? I heard in some youtube video that it's better to stick on drawing one character with different poses
I actually disagree with this one. There are many reasons on why i disagree, but i would want to hear what the video said too.
First of all, the same character will bore you to death. drawing the same thing over and over.. even me who's sketchbook is filled with flandre and clownpiece, they mostly have different outfit designs. That may also give you the thing you were worried about, not feeling like drawing the same character over and over.
second is that drawing other characters will help you learn other body types, hair styles, clothing and stuff!
