My Future Regarding Touhou

SateriCat17

Neko Youkai Meijin
So, this is a post I've thought about making for a while now. But first, you must understand that I'm not leaving Touhou for good (not sure I could as the old saying goes, "Once you get into Touhou, you can never leave" lol), so with that out of the way, let's get into it.
Despite my love of Touhou, I've gotta move on from it at some point, even if for a little while. For one thing, if I stay focused on one work for too long, my mind tends to get bored of it eventually no matter how interesting it is. That is just an unfortunate fact of how my mind works.
Of course, there are multiple other reasons as well, so now let's get into the second. I, of course plan to make stories throughout my life. I mean, my oldest and my "magnum opus" Story is where my username comes from in the first place ("Sateri" being the name of the "cat people" in that Story). I have a thread on this site (which remains unfinished) and some old Reddit posts of mine largely explaining what the Story is (though some parts of those Reddit posts are a bit outdated, so be warned about that) as trying to explain what the Story is otherwise would prove to convoluted.
Alright, now to the third reason. I am a Christian. I shall not hide that. Of course, I sometimes struggle keeping to my faith more than I used to due to some of my beliefs (especially in regards to the Story, which was a big contributor to my enduring faith, alongside my sometimes crippling depression about "human supremacy") being seemingly incompatible with some of what I used to/still do believe in. Regardless, I made a promise to myself that I would keep to my Christian faith until the end of my days, so that of course means attempting to make sure that I stay on my track and try to properly find Jesus Christ some day.
Now onto the fourth reason. There will very likely come a day when I withdraw myself almost entirely from the internet and maybe even human society as a whole.
Due to how my mind works, it is next to impossible for my mind to upkeep a monotonous daily life like that which I've endured nearly my entire life. I seek adventure and wonder, and most often, I cannot always get that from humanity, especially because of how today's society can be, but as well because of how my mind works.
I also am beginning to be able to not take human development more and more as I grow older, especially because of how much my heart breaks when I see trees in my own neighborhood being cut down, let alone entire forests.
Not to mention, for some odd reason, just seeing humans everyday can sometimes make my mind get a bit loopy, though the last part of that fourth reason is more a side thing to all this and is something which I'll have to deal with myself in the future.
Anyway, I suppose that is about all for now. I may still stick around for 1 or 2 more years, but unfortunately, I will have to put Touhou aside at some point. As I've already mentioned before though, I think I'd still come back every now and then, it just wouldn't be as often.
TLDR; (Pretty big simplification though)
In around 1-2 years' time, I'll probably largely walk away from Touhou to pursue my other interests/needs.

How come America produces the wackiest posts to ever exist? There's everything here, and I don't even know how to reply.

That's just how I do things. I tend to make long-form posts, especially if it's something which needs a lot of words to get across like with this.

Not reading all that.
Happy for you though.
Or sorry about what happened.

Nothing happened. Just something I decided to post about to explain some about how the future might go for me. Though you would have to read at least some of it to really know, but eh.

Not being exclusively obsessed with something forever is just normal behaviour, isn't it?
Yeah, I suppose so. Though there are plenty of people who still seem to be obsessed with Touhou even after a decade and a half. lol

This part is so real, I feel the same way a lot of the time. Remember what Paul says though, the body is not one part, but many! I definitely encourage you to find where you are being called to be, and if that means leaving the internet behind, or moving somewhere where there are just a lot less people, that makes sense to me! Just don't shun community altogether. If you seek to grow in your faith (as we all should (sometimes I personally do a bad job)), the last thing you want is to abandon any and all counsel from people unlike yourself.
Still though, I bid you the best for wherever you end up, and i'll keep you in my prayers! 😁:Reimu:

I understand, I also feel like I'll probably lose interest in some of the things I currently enjoy sooner or later because of work and life as I'd also like to focus more on my religion, change is just how we grow as people. Regardless of whether you leave the internet or not, I hope things go well for you and I'm glad you got to be a part of the community! (* ̄▽ ̄*)

This community is most certainly far better than most I've seen. Yeah, there are the weird and nutty people (though let's be honest, probably just about every community has those if it's big enough), but those on this site especially are generally kind and don't get easily offended unlike how most communities typically do.
