Hello, I'm new-ish to the touhou games (and shoot em ups in general) but want to work towards clearing at least one game.
I already really like the original Mountain of Faith and understand the basic mechanics. I've done some runs in Easy mode but it doesn't feel as rewarding as what Normal mode feels like.
Here is my current score sheet so we will see how this changes moving forward.

That’s a solid choice of game. Just don’t overthink it—just play. You could also try one of the earlier titles, like the 6th game (which recently got a remake), or give the fighting game spin-offs a shot (7.5, 12.3+10.5, 13.5, 14.5, and 15.5). Honestly, just play and have fun; you’ll memorize the attack patterns naturally over time.
